Good Challenge
It was windy. Greens were smooth. Most of the course was in pretty good shape, besides some bare spots. Pace of play was solid. I enjoyed the links style golf in the wind.
Challenging
This is a pretty nice track. Pace of play killed me though. We teed off, then the foursome behind us teed off “maybe” 3 to 5 minutes after. We waited almost every hole and the guys behind is keep pressing. Of course they sosnt stop after the feont 9 either. We got dogs and a beer and they went strait to 10. Lol. Oh well, they didn’t shoot in the low 80’s. I did!!
Fun course
First time playing and fun course. A bit short but tight on a few holes. I like links style courses and greens rolled true. Staff is real friendly and practice area is great with grass range. Short game area requires a reservation and believe it’s $10 for an hour. I will play again.
course conditions
greens were ok but a little fast. lots of bare spots on fairways and muddy areas.
Solid course
Played for my first time, wind was ~5 mph, seems like it could get windier and be much more difficult. Plenty of variety in fairway layout, some muddy spots marked as ground under repair on 2 or 3 holes as expected with recent weather, other than that good fairway conditions. Greens rolled nice and moderately fast. Went in 2 Greenside bunkers, both were soft and fluffy. Started at 12:30 finished at sunset so about 5 hours, started as a foursome that became two with like 5 holes to play. Stuck behind a walking foursome 90% of the round who had unrealistic expectations of the distance on their shots (waited for green to clear with 250+ to pin). No marshal enforcing pace of play, somewhat understandable given the surge in players during COVID. Was frustrating but finished so didn’t really care. Friendly staff too. Fella workin the Pro shop saw me pull up with Chik Fil A and wanted some. Seemed like a chiller.
Bring your A game.
Not many true links around. This is one though not a lot of elevation changes ie hidden scottish bunkers where you could live for a cpl weeks without being found. Pick you Tee boxes wisley if the wind is up. Go ahead play the Tips. Ha.lmk how that goes. Truly fair course. Lots of wild life birds but not destroyed by canada geese. They are present. Have fun.
Good challenge on a very good layout.
Even though I could only play the front 9 this time, it was an enjoyable round. Definitely, return to play the full 18 holes. The course was wet due to the recent rain. Would like to play it in drier conditions. Greens were consistent throughout the 9 holes. It was pretty busy but the pace of the round was constant without much holdups. Coming from Australia, locals are very fortunate to have such a good public course to play. Look forward to playing here again!
Great Links Course and Great Value!
This was the first time I played this course and I was pleasantly surprised! The course layout was pretty straight forward with room for error. The bunkers and hazards still keep you in check. The Greens were playing fast and smooth, they were a bit wet so things were sticking. I can't imagine these greens in the summer when they are firm. All in all, great course and will play again. Just make sure you tee off before 1pm or you will have to finish in the dark like we did.
Solid muni course, high winds usually prevalent
Conditions here are pretty great for a muni and the greens are good. Course can sometimes play barbarically long when the wind is coming off the bay, but parts of the course are tucked in pretty good.
Miller Time
Great course, huge practice facility, fun times. Not the easiest course late in the day as the wind picks up makes for a true links course. 4:30 hour round. Not terrible but when racing against the sun wish people picked up the pace. Will be back. It's a mature version of corica south.
