About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

A Pleasant Surprise
I have nothing but positive comments for this course. I cannot believe this course is not getting more recognition. The course was in fantastic condition for this time of year. From tee to green the course was impeccably groomed. There were a couple of greens that had some splotchy patches, but it was minimal. We really enjoyed the scenic aspect of this course. The mountain back drop was awesome. We found ourselves standing back and taking it all in on several occasions. The staff was incredible. The food was top notch. We had the breakfast burrito to go and it was very tasty. For lunch we had the chicken breast sandwich and fries, chicken chipotle sandwich and club sandwich with fruit plate. We all enjoyed our choices and the fruit plates were a nice touch. The presentation of the food was noticed and appreciated. We did not expect this from a golf course restaurant. We would come here just for the food. We played Shadow Ridge yesterday and would rank this above that course.
Off the beaten path
This course is off the beaten path when compared to its Desert kin, but it is worth the trip to play the South Course. In great condition with well groomed bunkers and a variety of challenging holes. Pace of play here is quicker than the resort destination courses because its a bit out of the way.
Indian Canyon South
Course is in great shape. Greens are in super shape (except #16), and overall experience was great. Would definitely recommend and plan to play again soon.
Beautiful early morning desert golf
Indian Canyon South Course was in excellent condition and I thoroughly enjoyed my early morning desert golf. With temperatures reaching 107 in the afternoon, it was very pleasant teeing off at 6:40 AM
Excellent condition
For mid august the conditions were excellent. Tee boxes a little used but fairways and greens played great. Ice cold water every third hole…. Perfect. Price was right, I’d play again in a heartbeat!
