Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Slow play
Arrives an hour early to get ready and practice to find out there were no carts. This delayed the start by over 15 minutes. For some reason they decided to allow a 5/6 person party to play as one which slowed play even more. This is the second time play was slow and it didn't seem the Marshall was doing anything except riding around in their cart
Pick up the pace.
Having tee times every 7 min is a bit much. It guarantees waiting between shots. I would pay extra to keep the pace steady.
Course needs work
Tee boxes are in rough shape. Sand traps are hard. No sand. Greens are in OK shape. People don't like to fix there divots.
First time on course
For my first time I enjoyed it for the most part. The pace was way too slow however there was group after group stacked on to eachother. Also the greens were just recently aerated with punch holes filled with sand with no discount.
Nice Golf Course.
Only bad thing was they were aerating the front nine so I had to play the back twice. Nice golf course for early March. I recommend and I will go back.
Great Course, but....
Our day at the course was good. For the time of year and the weather the course was in great condition! Our biggest issue was the pace of play, there consistently 2 or 3 groups, waiting at each tee box. Some groups abandoned play.. We discovered, on the back 9, the delay was caused by a foursome, that had morphed into an group of 6, and eventually a group of 8. It seemed like a birthday or bachelor party. I'm all about fun and was in no rush. But 5.5 hours to make it to the 17th tee box?? I wish the Marshall had dine a better job of monitoring the pace of play.
Secondly, when I made my reservation, I paid $6.00 via the app, and was to pay the final $90.00 at the course. Upon my arrival to the course I had to pay the full $96.00 plus tax. When I questioned it, the pro shop said "the app was wrong" and would not budge.
