Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Nice!
Very nice course! Well kept and peppered with hazards in all the right places. Fun for the average golfer....... Staff was friendly and play was steady throughout......
Honey bee
I always have a good time here as long as it is not crowded
Average golfer
Excellent course to play for the money, very forgiving for an average player. Greens are excellent condition.
An interesting course
The course was in good condition except bunkers were very hard on some holes. Bunkers need work to give them a depth of sand.
A good course for the average golfer.
Whats a Lovely Please
I was visiting the area from Vermont and stumbled across this delightful course. From the moment I stepped out of my car I was greeted by many nice people included members, staff, and other non-members.
Once on the course I enjoyed the beautiful fairways and the well kept greens. The sand traps that day where very wet and hard because of a rain the night before. The majority of them on the back 9 where unplayable because of pools of water. Otherwise the course was amazing.
There were a couple of challenging holes and water strategically placed throughout the course. Some very solid par 3's and tough but fair par 5's. If you are looking for friendly people, and a nice relaxing round, this is the place for you.
The course was in very good condition and was a challenge. Don't let the short distances fool you....
My son and I both enjoyed this course. It makes you think. You won't be pulling out the driver on every hole but the course design makes it a good challenge. I wish I lived closer......... oh - there really are tiny honey bees everywhere. Great course and a very good value...
Nice
Enjoyed my round with my sons. We played in the heat of the day so he course was wide open. We will definitely be back and the bargain rates on Golfnow.com cannot be beaten!
Slow play an issue
The course is not bad the people that work there need to be a little more friendly they pack you in every seven minutes so every group is on top of each other and it takes you 5 1/2 hours to play which nobody wants to do so pack a lunch if you plan on playing there but overall not a bad place
One of my favorites in the area
As always, I enjoyed a challenging round at Honey Bee. The greens were very fast and in great shape. I think the winter cold may have had an adverse effect on the fairway grasses, though as those were not as nice as in the past.

Overall condition of the course was good. The pace of play was horrible. Slow play needs to go.
Staff was very nice and good price
Good course The greens are go green good very nice people and staff
Very early season
The course was in rough shape but that's because the season had just started. We enjoyed the layout and would play there again.
Very Nice Course
The course is fairly short with wide fairways. There are large multiple sand traps around almost every green. Water can come into play of 8 holes.
Great course
one of the best kept city courses in the area. Affordable
Love this place
Course was a bit saturated but I love this course. Played this course almost a dozen times
EXtremely Problematic back-up
I like this course and have played it once before. However, when we arrived on Sunday of Masters, we were told it was a 10 minute or more delay and we saw 15 carts backed up to start on number one. The delay was actually 40 plus minutes. When we got to the second hole, we waited another ten minutes.
We decided to quit since the back-up appeared to run through the course. I asked for a rain-check and was told that Golf Now gets all the money so no rain-check was possible. I understand I booked a pre-paid rate that was non- refundable, but no where did it say to expect delays of more than 40 minutes for tee -time.
I won't be returning to Honey Bee and I won't be returning to GolfNow. I'm not sure if they overbooked, but the day was ruined.
Great Course
Fantastic venue, friendly staff great course design. I plan on playing here again soon.
early spring round at Honey bee
The course was in decent shape for early spring. The amount of rain and snow we got in the area was high, so the course was expected to be a little soggy. The fairways were really brown. The greens however were in great shape. Putted true and were a decent speed. Tee boxes were flat and well taken care of. The driving range needed a little more tlc as the hitting area was torn up some. Practice putting green was as true as the course greens. All in all it was a good day. We will be back to play again. Great value from Golf Now!
Great Value for a Great Course
Played 3/17 tee boxes/greens/bunkers were in great shape for mid march!! course held a lot of standing water is my only negative, course is definitely worth the $15 I paid on Golfnow...would recommend to all...going to be beautiful in a month or so
winter rough
Player this course in the pass was in alot better shape. Hasn't held up well to winter weather. Would give it until May to recover.
