About
Located close to the San Tan Mountains, the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club offers not only a good game but also beautiful mountain views. This championship golf course was done in a traditional desert-style with rolling fairways and fast greens that are large and undulating. There are also several sand bunkers that protect both the fairways and the greens. Water hazards come into play on five holes and extensive mounding adds further challenge. The course features four sets of tee boxes to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. Lone Tree Golf Club boasts extensive practice facilities including a targeted grass range, a large putting green, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

I like the course a lot, play there often
a couple of the fairways are in tough shape. overall it's good.
Good Course
Course Review:
I've played this course before and was glad to come back—especially with a great deal from GolfNow. The greens were watered and receptive, which was a nice change from Longbow, where it's hard to get anything to hold. My shots actually checked up the way they’re supposed to, which was a plus.
However, it seemed the watering also soaked the bunkers. I’m from Oregon, and I’m familiar with what happens when sand gets wet—bunkers can become nearly unplayable. That was the case here. My 62° low-bounce wedge bounced off the hard sand instead of digging, and it cost me a couple of strokes. It’s tough to control the ball in those conditions.
The range was closed, which was a little disappointing, but the putting green was open and rolling smooth at about a 9–10 on the stimp.
Overall, a solid course with good greens—just be prepared for firm bunkers if they’ve recently watered.

Lone Tree 6/20/25
Overall nice experience. Standard AZ grass changeover left some of the fairways sparse in some areas. Greens were mostly smooth and appeared to be about two weeks post-aeration. Course is forgiving with desert space right/left of most fairways. Pace of play was steady and right at 4 hrs total.
Golf
Golf course is in good shape. Greens were a little thin, but fair and playable. Food in the snack bar restaurant was great. Cart girl came around quite a few times had good cold beer.

Decent Golf Course
Members of our social club highly recommended this course. The conditions were great, and the layout was not too complicated. The only disappointment was running into a 6-some, with a 5-some in front of them. This created a slower pace of play at the turn. It was addressed by the marshal at hole 12 eventually. Overall, I would definitely come back and play there again.
Great Condition???????
Management needs to remove the sentence on their website that says "course is in great condition". Greens are really bumpy and slow. Lots of bad areas in fairways. Love this course but I won't be playing anytime soon.
