Lone Tree Golf Club
About
Located close to the San Tan Mountains, the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club offers not only a good game but also beautiful mountain views. This championship golf course was done in a traditional desert-style with rolling fairways and fast greens that are large and undulating. There are also several sand bunkers that protect both the fairways and the greens. Water hazards come into play on five holes and extensive mounding adds further challenge. The course features four sets of tee boxes to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. Lone Tree Golf Club boasts extensive practice facilities including a targeted grass range, a large putting green, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

Overpriced
Course has dried out some since I played it a month ago, fairways in need of some water and tee boxes need some work
looks like it needs care
easy to find, easy checkin, can't take carts to car, newer carts with really nice seats, ice chest on cart and sand bottles,, course looks beat and dry, have sodded front tees but no water and are pretty hard other tees generally just ok, fairways are fairly soft and can hit from, bunklers are not really very good, greens putt pretty nice and always have some movement, water on course for us, water buckets for towels, starter came around to checkon us, were told the slow group in front was advised, played in 4 hours on windy day, need to put yellow tees on score card so we know they exist, the course in general looks like it needs lots of care and should get it with the money that people have had to pay, a few of the needless bunkers have been removed and thatis nice, the island green has been worked on , ok to play but only at reduced prices now
Nice course in Chandler
First time at Lone Tree - other than sand on the greens the course was a nice layout and in good shape. Would definitely play it again.
Fabulous roynd
Had an incredible round at Lone Tree golf club. Greens were quite quick but readable. All staff were great!! Can hardly wait to plat again. Used my rewards to get this course for less than $10 for an 18 hole round.
Someone should have told me greens were being top dressed
The greens were virtually impossible to putt. I should have been told the greens were being top dressed with sand.
I would have liked the option to go elsewhere. I really should p have asked for my money back.
Windy day
The course was very wet after rain most of the night so it was cart path only. The course was in great shape and it played long due to the rain. Greens in great shap.
Needs yardage markers!
It was very disappointing that we had to guess how many yards we were from the green on every hole. Each sprinkler had a spot for yardage, but all were blank. There were no 150 or 100 yard markers in the fairways or on the cart paths. There was no GPS on the carts. It made for a frustrating day.
Also, the greens were not close to uniform speed. One would be very fast, another quite a bit slower - and no, it wasn't just because of downhill or uphill.
Finally, it was pretty overpriced. Even after GolfNow discounts, we paid about as much for our round here as we did to play a few days earlier at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, and there was no comparison as for quality of courses. Ak-Chin - which was in pristine shape, had GPS on carts and had free bottled water every 3 holes - even included use of a very nice driving range with excellent golf balls; Lone Tree charged $10 for a bag of beaten-up range balls, and we had to hit off mats.
All in all, Lone Tree was fine, the pace of play was good, and the staff was very nice.
Give players some idea of yardages, and maybe at least throw in the range balls to mitigate the cost, and it would be worthy of a higher rating.
5-somes really
Went behind a 5 - some on a Saturday at 9:46. Seriously 5somes played in just a shade under 5 hours just ridiculous how is this even allowed for $120 i would not expect to spend most of the day sitting and waiting. They didnt even play ready golf.
