About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Excellent Condition
The Candler Hills course is very well maintained. The tee boxes, fairways, traps, and greens are always in first-class condition. Even the rough is civilized. The greens are large but challenging with slopes and contours. They are faster than most, but the ball does roll true. Could stand some elevation variety.

Very nice course for the price
Very much enjoyed this place. Was visiting Florida for the holidays and wanted to play while I was here. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Facilities were in great shape. Course conditions were very nice. Greens and bunkers kept well. Would definitely come back.
Absolutely awesome course!
I got the first tee time in the morning and obviously pace of play was awesome! Ended up being paired with a couple of seniors and they waved me off as they wanted to play forward tees and didn't want to wait. The course was in absolute perfect shape. Everything from the greens, to the tees there was just amazing... It has been a while since I play such enjoyable round. Kudos to all the staff for providing a great time!
Nice course!
Wide fairways, receptive greens made it for a great round of golf. Pace of play was good. Didn't wait much on Par 3's and it was quick on all other holes. The one thing I'll say is the cart girl didn't get there until the 11th hole and didn't see her again. No drinks or anything are served at the pro-shop or restaurant until 10am. A little baffling if you have a 7:30 tee time.

Very player friendly and great for high handicapped greens were fast with slope and breaks
Pristine Conditions
This course is in the top 1% for conditioning of the 925 I have played. Generous fairways with firm and fast greens will bring me back whenever they have another online deal.
Fun with friends
Me and 2 friends played with a man who couldn't speak English. The course was in perfect condition and we all bonded with golf, that's why I started playing 40 years ago.
