Candler Hills Golf Club

We golfed here on May 3. Beautiful day, course in great condition. We were paired with two lovely ladies. Waited a bit on each hole for a foursome in front of us.. Now, let me preface this... I am a newer golfer (been golfing about 4 years). I can only hit my 3 wood about 130 yards, 24 handicap at this course. My husband is a scratch golfer. We got to hole 11, 180 yards from the green. We all saw the foursome on the green, but to be polite, none of us hit. They walked off to their carts (which were on the cart path). I hit my shot. The ball went left and hit the cart path. It then rolled all the way down the path to the left side of their carts (very slowly by the way). I yelled sorry, but I am sure they couldn't hear me from that distance in the wind. The rest of our foursome continued to hit. While we were driving off the fairway, a groundskeeper called us over. He told us that my ball landed next to their carts and the driver of the cart, on purpose, backed up and drove over my ball sinking it in the sand!!!! He was very upset that this guy did this. I told him, if they would hurry up, they wouldn't be getting hit into! He laughed. But this one jerk was not going to ruin my day! When we ended our round the guys that did that were walking away. I had to hold my husband back from going ballistic on them! When we vacation to other golf courses (as we did on this day), we always look to see if the course would be a goof fit for us to possibly move to. I had already gotten all the info from our playing partners, loved the course, loved the houses around it. But... if this is what the members are like, NO THANKS!

Stopped by here to play as a solo en route to visiting family in southern Florida. The place was immaculate and was everything I wanted out of playing in Florida, minus the stereotypical excessive water hazards! I had an amazing time and everyone was very friendly, especially the members I was paired with and the ranger. they have one of the most impressive practice facilities I’ve ever seen, too. Highly recommend. Being from Charlotte, often viewed as a golf mecca of NC, I would say this place is very high value.

We had a great day. Course is in great shape.. we’ll be back.

Course conditions were excellent, the first 3 holes we got a little rain.

We had a marvelous time, good conversation with the starter.

A very challenging, beautiful and well maintained course. We drove 45 minutes to get there but well worth it. Can’t wait to go back.!

Well groomed course. Tees for all player levels. Some long holes and shorter risk reward holes.

Staff knowledgeable and friendly. 19th hole good food and ambiance.

Played this course many times and it’s consistently in great condition but also consistently crowded.

This course is gorgeous. The staff all around were helpful and super friendly. The restaurant is top notch. A great way to spend the day.
