About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Best course around ocala
Best course in the area. What more to say. Got it for 22$ Through golf now. Can’t beat it.
Great Course
One of the best golf courses I've played since moving to Florida 5years ago.Great layout, outstanding course conditions from tee to green.Wonderful staff all around.Totally enjoy golfing here.Keep up the good work, kudos to the super and his assistants.
Too many rules
There are too many rules at this nice course, I played 9 holes and got rained out, the staff is ok overall but a few personalities and was treated rudely when I used golf cart to get to my car during a downpour so won't be back anytime soon.
Great Course
Course in great shape as usual. Green are fairly fast but put true. Pace of play was good.
Beautiful Course
Best maintained course in Marion County. Always try to play here when I see a hot deal. Bar tender was very nice. Wish I played better, but the course is fabulous.
Lush
Airated greens, great staff, lots of sand but no water. Plenty of sea grass to catch errand shots but great lies in the fairways but all the holes kind of seemed the same.
Sandhog
Lots of bunkers. Good condition. Slow greens.
Great practice area.
