About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

All around good course
Playing at 1pm we had a good pace.
Course was in decent shape. A few greens have issues. One green is very badly. Greens were slower than expected
Fairways were nice and offered nice lies.
Rough was a playable height.
Bunkers , Which there are mamy? were well taken care of.
Always a great course
Beautiful layout course was in great shape except for a couple of greens that were dried out in places. Love this course

Greens where just punched and sanded a heads up would have been nice for the price of the tee time.

Course was in excellent condition. The greens could have been a little faster. Being from Myrtle Beach I found this course the most comparable to the 10 or so I have played in Florida. I will definitely be playing this course again.

Issues with some of the greens????which is very unusual for this course. This course has always been top of the heap when it comes to conditions. Still a fun course. A need to play couprse
Greens need work
As usual, the course was in pretty good shape. Except for the greens. Although, normally I like faster greens. These were like putting on glass. Way to fast for the average golfer. The Ocala open is over. Bring them back to more reasonable speeds. We paid $56 on a hot deal. Despite the excellent conditions. That's way too much for this course. The course normally charges 75-$90 to play there. Definitely not worth that. I guess the snowbird crowd will pay that and be satisfied, but I'm not in that group. Sometimes I think they want the general public to play there, but don't really care if they do.
