Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
About
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Sand box
Holy crap if you want white sandy beaches just go to this courses driving range oh my goodness, went to hit some balls today and after having to drive to the club house get balls then drive to the range I was welcomed by 0 grass and 100% sand the range needs to be closed for two years at least to get it back into a actually driving range or just lay down some mats terrible terrible range conditions will never be back
Big bear hug
The staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home right from the start. The driving range was a little rough but very busy. The pace was very slow but the one hour frost delay could have affected the pace of play-but the day was enjoyable. The course was a bit challenging in the fact that everything sloped to the desert areas but it was a good distance from the forward tees for the more beginner golfer. And a lot of the greens had false fronts. The greens and tee boxes were an excellent shape and the fairways were on par for this time of year.
Great course
Really a nice course. Nice layout. In fairly good shape for the time of year. Only thing I didn’t like is the clubhouse locked up while there were still players on the course.
Clubhouse hours?
The clubhouse was closed before we finished our round which was well before sunset
For the money not good
This looks and plays like a muni course. Watch out as you enter the area as flying golf balls from the range come at you on the entrance driveway! The layout is not interesting and the conditions are rough. The course is mostly dirt and dried up weeds! The play was very fast, I suspect because the course is not that desireable. Was a long drive from Scottsdale just to play a marginal course.
Nice Round of Golf
This is my second time playing this course this year. Condition of fairways and greens was very good. I saw a marshal but no problem with pace of play, finishing in a little under 4 hours.
Disappointed
Course was overbooked, no parking out to Riggs road, delayed start time of 1:41pm to 2:05. Had to wait for carts. Golf cart attendant overwhelmed and did not know how to take control of the situation. Very poor communication from the start.
Pace of play extremely slow, ranger did not force anyone to pick up pace of play. Our group had to play the first nine twice or we would not make it through back 9 before sunset. Several greens bumpy and worn down which affected several Birdie and Par attempts. Extremely frustrated, I will not play this course again. High golf fees for the worst service, course conditions and chaos. I’ve been to some bad courses but this one tops it all. I’m going to take my game elsewhere. I wasted money for what should be a great round of golf and quality time.
Staff is great and food is good.
The course is ok but way overpriced for this time of year.
Nice Greens
The putting on these greens was very nice.
Tricky with lots of slopes.
Course seemed to play long for some reason. Pace of play was about 4hr 15 minutes.
Bring you gps with you for distances.
We will play this course again.
Nice variety of holes with undulating fairways and greens but not too severe. Fairways and greens in good shape,a little dry on the edges. Greens a decent speed and rolled true with minimal ball marks. Staff was grrat as were the people I was paired with. Pave was just over 4 hrs. A fun course that I would definitely play again for the right price
Bear Creek
Good course great greens! Nice over seed! Very friendly staff!
Nice course, practice facilities need improvement
Course was good shape, greens, fairways and rough. Biggest issue was getting charged for $12 die a bucket of balls and having to hit off a horrible driving range. It was sand, not turf. You could hit an explosion shot with sand wedge in the driving range so made it hard to warm up irons. The practice bunker was hard as a rock and had to carve out packed sand.
Enjoy the course, skip the warm up.
disappointed
I got a t-time through Golfnow. It was originally for a twosome. I added a 3rd player on the Golfnow site. When we were checking in, the person at the front desk said the 3rd player could not play. we had a confirmation from GN. Bear Creek staff blamed GN and would take no action or responsibility. They also said they were too busy to make an exception. However, when we went to play the back nine, they had let a twosome get in front of us. Unacceptable.
