Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course

Absolutely the worst managed course I have played on in a long time. Marshall was totally useless to speed up the pace of play. Saw him once or twice over 5 hrs and 15 minutes and at no point did he do anything to speed up the pace of play. Groups in front of me wasted all sorts of time looking for lost balls.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS COURSE AT ALL TIMES.

Course is in great shape this time of year for summer Arizona heat. Fairways were in great shape with minor bald spots and greens rolled true. However, there was a strange cutting pattern (hashtag-type) on the greens which made it very difficult to read the breaks and speed.

Bear Creek does a great job keeping the course in fantastic shape year round. Winter months it’s a bit overpriced, but summer time you get a great course with awesome value.

It only took a couple of weeks and the greens are rolling nicely again. Course was a little wet in some of the low lying areas and traps, probably as a result of trying to green things up a bit. I don’t know the first thing about greens keeping, but it strikes me that keeping a golf course in good shape through the summer is a bit of a challenge and Bear Creek does a better job than most courses in this price range, at least in the east valley.

Overall,

Very pleased with the round of golf we experienced. Course play was monitored really well to ensure a steady pace.

The bartenders were great and very polite. We enjoyed sitting for a cold beer after finishing our round.

Course was in as good a shape as ever, aside from the greens being recently punched, which made them a little slow and bumpy, of course. Not a complaint. Just a heads up for anyone playing this week. Otherwise, everything was great!

We're nice rolling but had to be firm put.... They've really cleaned it up. It looks great. Been like that for a couple years but right now it's the best I've seen in the area

Greens were unputtable. TeeOff did not alert me that they were just punched. I had to quit on the 2nd hole and get a tee time credit. Wait at least 3 weeks to play here

Fairways and tee boxes are fantastic, but they didn't mention that the greens had been punched the day before. That ruined an otherwise great day.

It was an absolute pleasure to see a a fair way and the greens in excellent condition in the middle of summer in Arizona. Don't know what they're doing but boy was it. Nice. They had a 2-in rough and then a nice rolling. Fairways greens were semi-fast but no spots. No burns on the greens or nothing. Very happy and the price was excellent and all the courses we played this year. This was the by far the best

Course was in great condition! Better than any of the other courses in the same area.

Course was in great shape overall. Checkin staff and bag boys were friendly as well. The Marshal threw off our vibe on hole 1 with his nasty demeaner. Would not go back because of him. Also, bar closed around 3 on a Saturday which felt weird since we just wanted a cold one after a hot round.

Good round. 3 some front of us struggled to hold pace on the front. They picked it up on the back 9.

Tees and fairways are in great shape. Greens had a few thin spots but pin positions avoided them.

Arrive: Outside service very welcoming and efficient. Prepare: Respect for your tee time, no rushing you out to get their "cushion". Starter: Helpful, consistent. Marshall: No lectures, helpful, nothing like "there's two holes ahead of you" when there's nobody on your tail. Cart lady: frequent, Inside service: Incomparable. Food great. Beverage choices: plentiful. 19th Hole: Inside or out, it's time to relax and watch the rookies comie in.. The Bear rocks!
