Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course

About
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Good Layout, Great Staff
The course is a fun layout, fairways and greens are in good shape. Staff is always friendly and helpful (unless you decide to ignore the thoroughly explained rule of not taking carts into desert areas).
Links course in good conditions
First time I played the course and I will return soon. wide fairways , the course is much forgiven. The conditions were very good. Tee boxes are flat which is very important .
The Bear
Poor course conditions, plain layout and an average clubhouse make the course over priced for what you get. The gas carts are slow so you can’t play fast even if the course is empty.
Great for golfers!
Many of the negative reviews on here are about people. Rangers, mostly. Sure, they can get a bit testy about driving in the dirt areas, but I’ve taken the controversial approach of not driving in the dirt areas, and it seems to help. Anyone I’ve ever dealt with has been more than adequately civil. Even polite in a few rare cases. None of this strikes me as being unique to Bear Creek. Golf staff are hit and miss, everywhere you go, no matter how much or how little you pay. What is somewhat unique is a well maintained golf course with fun shots and good greens. Very good greens. Bear Creek is just better than the other East Valley courses in this price range.
Fairways too close to each other
Fairways are too close to each other. Lots of errand balls
Bang for the buck
Played Champion Bear. Slloowwww. Saturday in late March, to be expected but annoying. One marshal was extremely passionate about us not driving close to the dirt/ waste areas. Nbd but was a bit militant to playing partners on first offense. (3’ in dirt)
Course is fun. Good track. Doesn’t take driver out of hand. Blind shots with bunkers. The bunkers are inconsistent condition at best. Played Blue tees w 270-300 yrd drives that left you some options.
Greens are fast and true. VERY good condition.
Staff aside from marshal more concerned with the dirt than pace of play, was awesome. Very friendly, funny, and welcoming.
Would play again but won’t be ‘home’ course.

Greens and Apron well maintained. Public courses need to keep prices affordable.
Always enjoy bear creek. Nice variety of holes and fairways and green were excellant. Bunkers could be better butvwere playable. Pace was good at 4.o5
Paid 55 on GN so at that price one of best deals in valley
Good course for the price in a flooded PHX market. Nice local course to whip around and get some strokes in. Nice green complexes that ran at a solid pace
Great links style course
This is a links style course with very few trees and wide open. Off the first cut of fairway and you are in a hard packed dirt lie. Course was in great condition ... tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Comprehensive practice area with range, chipping green (with bunker) and putting green. Will definitely be back.
Love this course
Played a great round. Maybe my best ever on this course!! Hit two birdie's!!!
