About
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Week Day Golf
Course in good shape, great weather and excellent staff
Course Conditions
Greens where ok, with ok speed. Tee boxes where in ok condition. Fairways where spotty with lots of dead spots & hard pan. Sand Traps where in good shape. I probably won't play again until it gets in better shape which could be a while as Summer time is coming. This course is drying out & fast!! With some TLC this course could be really nice.
It's OK in transition
course was mowed down in this transition season when the bermuda grass starts to become green. Balls off fairway roll out into waste area; mostly tight lies. Greens were somewhat slow and a little bumpy. All in all it was OK. Staff was friendly. A little overpriced for the condition.
There are better options
This is an example of a course that could be awesome if the love was put into it
. The layout is cool, there is a par 3 course , club house looks out to 18th green with a large window etc.
However the greens were the worst, slowest and bumpiest I have seen in AZ during season. Fairways have a lot of loose grass and dirt on them the rough is non existant, Just very bad conditions. Its prime -time for golf in AZ right now so most other courses are looking fantastic even a lot of the cheaper munis are nice. Also the clubhouse kitchen was not open at 10:30am. With so many options nearby I dont think ill be back.
