Bear Creek Golf Complex - Cub Course
About
The Bear Creek Golf Complex offers two golf courses, one championship length course and one executive length course, the Cub Course. This sporty course is ideal for beginners and families. Like its sister course, the Bear Course, there are rolling fairways and well-manicured greens that have unique swales and collection areas. The design features five par 4s and the rest are par 3s, all of which vary in length. A round of golf on the Cub Course can be completed in less than three hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex also boasts several practice facilities including a lighted driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Good executive course
The course is in good shape and is a good executive course. You can use all clubs in the bag. My honest advice ( I have been playing golf for over 30 years and still shoot upper 80's, so I am not saying this because I am full of myself) is this- don't play this course on a weekend if possible- too many people out there who need to spend time on the range seeing if they can actually hit a ball. It was 4 hrs to play, too long for a short course. If you can play during the week it might be better. I know that people want to learn the game, but the driving range is where a lot of folks that I saw today should be. You would think that the high prices this time of year would keep the worst hackers away, but I guess times have changed. Play this course during the week, it is challenging enough and in fairly good condition, if you want to work on your irons and save a little money during this time of outrageous pricing here in the valley!!
Great Course!
This is a great Executive course for a quick round. Pace of play was good and you use every club in your bag.
Weak design
Course has a wide variety of par 3 holes, however they are basically flat and uninteresting. All the challenge is in the greens, which have a lot of slope. There is only 1 bunker on the course, in the par 4 17th and one water hazard, in the 18th. Good course for beginners and very short hitters, and good for walking or practicing iron shots. The day I played it too almost 4 hours to play, which is ridiculous for a weekday on an executive course.
Greens were I great shape.
Will play again
I'd never played an "executive" course before but couldn't get on anywhere else in my available time frame. I was pleasantly surprised. Fairways were average and greens were good. 3 hours. Good practice for the short game. Good value for what I paid. An enjoyable day
Fun course for a quick round
3.5 hour round of golf on a course that let's you play every club in the bag. Pace was a little slower than normal because weather was so nice more people out there. Usually play this course in 3 hours.
Nice course
The Cub course is A nice course for children to learn the game. The Bear course was a nice course. We would come back and play this course again.
One of our favorites
This is a great short course with challenging greens. Good practise for your short game. From the green of #3 hole to the #4 Tee blocks is a little ambiguous as we have seen people going to hole #6 and missing 4 and 5. We have also experienced having to wait while several foursomes that were not in front of us were lined up at the tenth tee, waiting to tee off. If people are being started on #10 there should be a marshal present to regulate this.
Good Value
Nice course for work on short game.
Decent layout and in good shape. Greens were quite slow
Pace if play was excellent
Good value. Enjoyable round
Aza
Rough high and very spongy.
Pace of play good only because recreational players allowed us to play through twice.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Alternative to playing your Bear course since it had been closed for overseeding. Very close to where we were living here in Chandler. Completed our round in a little over 2 hours.
Would try it again under similar circumstances.
Cub Course
Great little course. A little confusing because of cart path, but besides that a great course. I liked it!
Seemed to be a good layout
Couple of blind shots, a few tee boxes close to incoming greens, all in all a good course, greens in very good shape, and enjoyed the round.
Good course greens need work
Good course just would have liked to know greens are messed up feel like I got jipped
Great Course
Love this course. The conditions are very good and the staff are very friendly and professional.
Very good exec course
Played many times w/wife. Good couples experience. No intimidation for the relative beginners.
Fast Greens and Wildlife
Just when you think you've figured out the speed of the greens, you're on a hole with a slow green.
A lot of wildlife, ducks, rabbits, birds galore. It'd be a fun place to start your children golfing; Cub course, not the Bear.
Nice course
Played at the break of dawn, course was in great shape. Good for practice rounds or beginners. I was able to get 18 in and play under 2 hrs pace of play.
great weather for golf
played 18 holes and the course was in good condition which is about par for this time of year considering the large amount of people playing now. My only complaint was the speed at which a certain four some in front of several other golfers were playing which held everyone up. Some hitting several balls on each hole because of the wait. I'm not sure what the course employees could do about that because it's hard to teach manners to some people playing golf. It happens on the best of course so it's part of the game.
Good course to learn on
Not incredibly challenging. Fun for beginners. Kids can learn from the close tee box. Nice staff. Not pretentious.
