Located in the West Valley, the championship-length course at the Coldwater Golf Club boasts several different challenges for an interesting round of golf. There are elevated tees as well as several dry washes. There are two lakes providing water hazards on the golf course as well. There are also dramatic elevation changes caused by the mountainous terrain. Aside from the challenging game, the course also offers beautiful mountain vistas. The course has not only one signature course but two. The first is the modest eighth hole. Although it is short at 100 yards, it features an elevated tee and a triple-tiered green. Coldwater Golf Club also finishes with a signature hole. The beginning tee shot plays to an open fairway over water with a dry wash to the left, while the approach shot is closed-in by another wash to the left and a lake to the right.

Long day

We were able to sneak out before our tee time and good thing! Our round took 5 and a half hours. Just got in before sunset. Eat before you play. Getting food at the turn is not do-able. Also there are NO bathrooms on the course. Course condition was fantastic. Greens were some of the best we played will visiting AZ.

5+ hours to play is fun

Played behind several groups playing a scramble none could play or understand golf etiquette. Range had no solutions only told stories and apologized. There were obvious solutions to the problem but none were taken we just waited all day!

The large greens surprised me, and the distance played long with the greens and area around them soft to hold shots. Some sand traps were hidden from view.

At the $62 hot deal price I don’t believe I’ll be back!

Coming along

You can tell this course is under new ownership. They are trying to make improvements and clean it up. Overall it was a fun course and not bad for the money. I’ll play it again.

Good times had, which when I'm in Arizona, is what it's all about. Every course down here is worth about half of what you pay, so I just grin and bear it....none are ever worth it though.

Needs work

Coming from NW Phoenix I thought I would travel the 1/2 hour and give this course a go.

Overall the course layout is interesting with the front mainly flat while the back 9 is definitely more challenging with undulating hills. Fairways were in good condition however the areas around all the fairways and holes looked like construction zones more than a golf course.

The course itself needs lots of work:

Tee boxes - lots of bare spots and littered with tees (no upkeep and very unsightly).

Ball washers - few and fair between holes. If we did come across one there was no water in any of them.

Driving range - hitting off green mats and no real distance markers for warmups.

Sand traps - brown sand with sizable rocks. Fortunately I didn't hit any sand traps.

Greens - lots of bare spots and in some cases little rough. Definitely requires the most work.

The price was right for this outing. If they clean up the area around the course and make the necessary improvements the variety of shots and overall layout would make it a very nice track.

Love The 16th Hole

I’ve played the course 2-3 times per year the last 3 years.

The most fun was me playing the 16th hole. In November

2024 I hit a 6 iron 186 yards and it disappeared. When we got to the green it was 9-10 inches in front of the hole. Great a birdie. Feb of 2025 when I got to the 16th with friends and it was 186 yards again so I told my friends that I would hit the ball 10 inches farther with my 6 iron. Went at the hole and when we got to the green no ball. I looked in the hole and there it was. A hole in one. The third time I played the hole in Nov 2025 it was a white flag and it was 159 yards. So I hit an 8 iron and was 8 feet behind the hole and I missed the putt. So 3 times and 6 total shots. I’m happy and have annointed it my favourite hole.

The End.

Good course, nice layout, conditions average

It's hard to keep golf courses perfect in AZ so I try to have an open mind when playing new clubs. The course was in fair shape but not overly sharp in any one area. It is quite wide open with accessible desert areas if you're not a perfectly straight hitter on every shot. Staff was very friendly and beverage cart staff was around a lot during our golf day. Overall this course fall in the middle of the road in my opinion. Thank you

Nice Affordable Course

Enjoy playing this course but yesterday was awful. On the first hole there was a single player. No starter and the guy was an obvious interloper. There was two doubles in front of him. Very slow play. No rangers on the course. Two calls to the pro shop went unheeded and the snail pace continued.
