Coldwater Golf Club
About
Located in the West Valley, the championship-length course at the Coldwater Golf Club boasts several different challenges for an interesting round of golf. There are elevated tees as well as several dry washes. There are two lakes providing water hazards on the golf course as well. There are also dramatic elevation changes caused by the mountainous terrain. Aside from the challenging game, the course also offers beautiful mountain vistas. The course has not only one signature course but two. The first is the modest eighth hole. Although it is short at 100 yards, it features an elevated tee and a triple-tiered green. Coldwater Golf Club also finishes with a signature hole. The beginning tee shot plays to an open fairway over water with a dry wash to the left, while the approach shot is closed-in by another wash to the left and a lake to the right.

The course was in excellent shape. Could use a little more water on course. Pretty hot out there.
Great Course
Course was in great condition. Fairways were lush. Great conditions for using fairway woods of the deck. The ball was almost teed up.
Greens look a little rough and slow. The speed was very good and the ball rolled better than expected.
Definitely one of my go to courses in the Phoenix area.
Nice quick round
Enjoyed the course. Wife and I played by ourselves. The pace was good as we were done in 3:20 .
Some of the blue tee boxes were in poor shape and need some upkeep, the wife’s were fine. Of the few sand traps we were in, they were also in need of some work, very hard and some still had water in them. Good fairways and greens were ok as well.
Great fun
Pleasantly surprised, great course to play thouroughly enjoyed the round.
Good Experience
Course was in ok condition.
Pace of play excellent.
Price was great.
Not a very challenging layout but it was good to set some AZ winter golf in under 4 hours
Long day
We were able to sneak out before our tee time and good thing! Our round took 5 and a half hours. Just got in before sunset. Eat before you play. Getting food at the turn is not do-able. Also there are NO bathrooms on the course. Course condition was fantastic. Greens were some of the best we played will visiting AZ.
5+ hours to play is fun
Played behind several groups playing a scramble none could play or understand golf etiquette. Range had no solutions only told stories and apologized. There were obvious solutions to the problem but none were taken we just waited all day!
The large greens surprised me, and the distance played long with the greens and area around them soft to hold shots. Some sand traps were hidden from view.
At the $62 hot deal price I don’t believe I’ll be back!
Coming along
You can tell this course is under new ownership. They are trying to make improvements and clean it up. Overall it was a fun course and not bad for the money. I’ll play it again.
Good times had, which when I'm in Arizona, is what it's all about. Every course down here is worth about half of what you pay, so I just grin and bear it....none are ever worth it though.
Needs work
Coming from NW Phoenix I thought I would travel the 1/2 hour and give this course a go.
Overall the course layout is interesting with the front mainly flat while the back 9 is definitely more challenging with undulating hills. Fairways were in good condition however the areas around all the fairways and holes looked like construction zones more than a golf course.
The course itself needs lots of work:
Tee boxes - lots of bare spots and littered with tees (no upkeep and very unsightly).
Ball washers - few and fair between holes. If we did come across one there was no water in any of them.
Driving range - hitting off green mats and no real distance markers for warmups.
Sand traps - brown sand with sizable rocks. Fortunately I didn't hit any sand traps.
Greens - lots of bare spots and in some cases little rough. Definitely requires the most work.
The price was right for this outing. If they clean up the area around the course and make the necessary improvements the variety of shots and overall layout would make it a very nice track.
