Located in the West Valley, the championship-length course at the Coldwater Golf Club boasts several different challenges for an interesting round of golf. There are elevated tees as well as several dry washes. There are two lakes providing water hazards on the golf course as well. There are also dramatic elevation changes caused by the mountainous terrain. Aside from the challenging game, the course also offers beautiful mountain vistas. The course has not only one signature course but two. The first is the modest eighth hole. Although it is short at 100 yards, it features an elevated tee and a triple-tiered green. Coldwater Golf Club also finishes with a signature hole. The beginning tee shot plays to an open fairway over water with a dry wash to the left, while the approach shot is closed-in by another wash to the left and a lake to the right.

Fun course

In good condition. Some area still need repair. A couple of tee boxes need work specially 15th. Overall fun to play.

Cold water Arizona

Was a windy and dusty day but the course was in good shape. Challenging course with the different swales along and beside the fairways.

A little better shape.

Course is slowly improving with better tee boxes, except hole 1, better fairways and greens. Sand traps are still very hard and could use some work. Completed round in 4/1/4 so we were doing some waiting.

Big improvement over last year

Have played here each of the last three years. Loved the layout two years ago, and course was in good condition once we got past the Midwesterner idea that the course should be green everywhere. Last year, however, conditions had dropped off VERY badly and conditions were terrible - so bad we were a bit leery of returning this year. I’m glad we gave it another chance. While still not as nice as some courses in its price tier (Coyote Lakes, for example), and maybe not as nice yet as it was two years ago, conditions have improved markedly over last year - fairways and greens are in MUCH better shape, there was actually some grass in the rough before running into the desert, pace of play was better (4 hours). Enjoyed our round, and will play here again. Tee boxes could use some work.

Decent Course

Course was in pretty good condition, pace of play got bad after the turn. All courses have jacked up their rates which is discouraging for we residents.

Add to your list of places to play in the Valley

This course is a good value. The greens were terrific and the fairways were very good. Tee boxes were a bit rough though. The course is very playable as a mid handicapper. The staff was outstanding, I had booked and prepaid for a threesome and had a member of group that couldn’t make it and the staff graciously refunded that green fee. The pro shop was well stocked. Will definitely keep this course on my replay list on my next trip to Arizona.

Condition of this course has fallen off a cliff

I've played Coldwater 5 or 6 times in the last 2-3 years and was disappointed greatly by the conditions I found there today (after having last played there about a year ago...).

Most of the tee boxes are poor. They are bumpy and the grass is quite rough (the first tee, in particular was atrocious)...good luck finding a level stance to hit your tee shot.

The greens were shaggy and slow when they used to be firm and fast.

The fairways were generally fine and I was fortunate enough to not have to venture into any bunkers so I can't speak to the condition thereof.

This course has really good bones but it appears that they either don't have a professional groundskeeper or that Elon Musk and his DOGE folks cut their maintenance budget to the bone!

Today it was far, far from a $90 course here in the Valley!

I will not be back until I hear from a reliable source that these conditions have been corrected, which is a shame because in the past this has been a good value for the money course that's pretty easy to get to from Uptown Phoenix since it's just off the I10 in Avondale.

Slow Greens

The fairways were in okay shape. If you ventured off the hem there was lots of sand gravel and rocks. The greens did get better as we played thru the course, but we're generally bumpy and slow.
