Located in the West Valley, the championship-length course at the Coldwater Golf Club boasts several different challenges for an interesting round of golf. There are elevated tees as well as several dry washes. There are two lakes providing water hazards on the golf course as well. There are also dramatic elevation changes caused by the mountainous terrain. Aside from the challenging game, the course also offers beautiful mountain vistas. The course has not only one signature course but two. The first is the modest eighth hole. Although it is short at 100 yards, it features an elevated tee and a triple-tiered green. Coldwater Golf Club also finishes with a signature hole. The beginning tee shot plays to an open fairway over water with a dry wash to the left, while the approach shot is closed-in by another wash to the left and a lake to the right.

Much Improved

Last year the course descended into the pits. But now, the overseed has revealed a much improved course. The fairways are growing in nicely and the greens will be cut shorter (according to the staff) once the new grass has taken hold in another week or two.

All in all, a significant improvement and a resurrection of the course from C- list to A list.

Much improved but still needs work.

Fairways in good shape. Some greens still filing in. Half good. Half bumpy. Most slow. Some areas around the greens and Fairways are dug up and muddy. Noticed a lot of cart tracks. Should implement 90 degree rule. A lot of divots not filled in. Golfers should do better. Noticed a Marshall on the course. Even a refreshment cart. Slow play. Round took 4-1/2 hrs. It was a busy at the course. Wonderful staff. They make you feel appreciated and welcome. A nice course overall.

caught them during overseed

I played here mainly because my course is closed for overseed so I can't be too critical, especially for the price. Appreciate them being open and allowing carts. Fairways and greens were extremely unpredictable. Slow and furry so putting was a joke. Course has some nice holes on it but powerlines dominate the scenery. Will give it another try when winter grass gets established and they have cut the greens and fairways.

Highly recommended

Jacob and the good folks at Coldwater made it easy to golf here. They were courteous and accommodating in all fashions. This was my second time golfing here and the testament is the same every time. The course was in top shape and the pace was perfect. I will definitely visit again very soon.

A Remarkable Transformation Under New Management

I recently had the pleasure of playing at coldwater, and I must say, the improvements under the new management are nothing short of incredible. The last time I visited, I left disappointed—poor course conditions, unfriendly staff, and an overall subpar experience. When my buddy invited me to play here again, I was hesitant. However, I’m thrilled to report that it’s a completely different experience now.

The greens are in immaculate condition, smooth and well-maintained, making every putt feel like a joy. The entire course has been beautifully restored, with lush fairways and scenic surroundings that enhance the overall experience. The new management has clearly put in the effort to transform this course into a top-notch golfing destination.

What also stood out was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The team at the front desk was welcoming and efficient, which was a pleasant change from my previous experience. It’s evident that customer service is now a priority, which makes the whole visit more enjoyable.

I highly recommend giving coldwater another chance if, like me, you were disappointed before. It’s now a fantastic place to spend a day on the greens

A Gem in the Desert – Coldwater Golf Course Never Disappoints

I recently had the pleasure of playing 9 holes at Coldwater Golf Course with my son on October 6th, and once again, Coldwater proved why it’s a must-play for any golfer in the Phoenix area. The course had just reopened after overseeding, and the conditions were nothing short of exceptional. From tee to green, everything was lush, green, and beautifully manicured, making for a pristine playing experience.

What stood out was the consistency and playability of the course, despite it being just a week after overseeding. Coldwater has always been a hidden gem, but seeing it in such fantastic condition was a real treat. My son and I had a great time, and the warm and welcoming staff made the day even better. With the drink cart coming around frequently—a lifesaver on a hot Arizona day—we were able to stay refreshed and focused on enjoying our game.

Coldwater continues to impress me every time I visit, and its attention to detail, even after seasonal maintenance, is truly commendable. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Coldwater Golf Course is a prime example of how a desert course should be maintained and enjoyed. We’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to golfers of all levels.

Coldwater

Course was nice after over seeding. We got out on the back end of a tournament this morning so pace was a little behind but overall not bad. As the season goes on Coldwater will definitely be a place to come back to.

Support staff were friendly. Cart girls came around often and had all of the essentials to a good afternoon of golf. Restaurant staff were nice and friendly.

Amazing to be back

Course just got completed from overseeding. The course looks amazing, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Cart girls were around often, and there were plenty of water stations available with COLD water. I’ll definitely be back to play some more.
