About
On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

Excellent layout but unforgiving on so many levels make it less fun to play
Beautiful course and layout but the extremely unforgiving conditions made it less fun to actually play. Green were hard and extremely fast making it impossible to keep the ball in the green. The play it short theory and let it release didn’t always work as the greens were surrounded by bunkers, hills. Steep terrain. Little/no rough around the water, hazards as the fairways slope in that direction made a good shot often times end up in the water. Pin placements were worse than Augusta on Sunday and throw in 15-20 mph winds and you had little chance e to score. Pro shop gave 2 blue hers of $25 to use at the snack bar but it was closed and the beverage cart didn’t arrive u til the 15th hole. Left with one voucher of $25 only good on date of play! Staff could care less about your experience except the starter was extremely helpful and way overpriced to be kicked in the teeth for 18holes.

Always a fun day
I always enjoy playing Classic Club. Great practice area, beautiful Clubhouse, excellent food, and they have always been smart to add $25 to green fee to make it easy to stay for lunch, drinks. The course is challenging especially with the wind. Bring your best swing!
Greens are challenging to read, but fair and not too fast today.
Don't play here when it's very windy!
Extremely windy conditions made play difficult. The fairways were very firm and so even balls hit to the middle of the fairway ended up in the water on several occasions. A little unfair.
Fun and challenging
Wide fairways and greens mostly flat and friendly. A lot of water and bunkers that keep you on your toes.
