About
On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

Golfer Reviews
Greens
The greens were very firm. They could have been a little softer
A must play for any serious golfer.
This is an incredible golf course. It was in fantastic condition and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Rangers were always checking how things were going and the beverage cart was never far away. A very enjoyable time was had by all.
Contrived layout
Played on a nice day -- little wind, much sun. Course (especially greens) in very good condition. Water on 13 holes. Course design is very contrived (as many Arnold Palmer layouts are), Many holes dogleg (some severely) around water, which is boring. Most fairways/green slope steeply towards water. For example, hit 6 balls into the water & retrieved 5 of them by hand -- meaning that they just barely trickled in. Felt this to be unfair and, as a result, would not play this course again.
Outstanding - highly recommended
This was one of the best courses I ever played!!!
Everything was perfect, the quality of the surroundings, the tee boxes, greens, everything was really well maintained.
Course design is tough and you need to bring your A game but it is well worth it with many beautiful and challenging holes.
It's almost perfect!
Best course in Palm Springs.
This course has great features.
Course was beautiful with soft, well manicured fairways. Greens were fast and challenging, yet not extreme. Staff were extremely friendly and golf was very enjoyable. Will definitely go back!
awesome!
One of the best courses I've ever played in Coachella. At 139 a round it was quite high but the service, quality of course and the experience was worth it.
It was so windy.
People warn about the potential of strong winds at this course and unfortunately I found out. It was like a dust storm on the back nine. I thought about quiting several times on the back. Hit a reasonable driver on 1 whole into the wind 145 yards. Two holes later hit another drive down wind. 265 yards. This is the second time I have played this course. Both times it was very windy. Overall I think the course has some great golf holes and the club house is unbelievable Because. Of huge wind not sure I will go back when there are do many other options here.
Beautiful Course
My wife and I played here for the first time... Both average golfers (at best). Somewhat intimidated at the start, as we were paired with 2scratch golfers.
The course was challenging, beautiful, and we ended up having an excellent round of golf. They keep the pace fairly quick, good mix of water & sand, and some fun approach shots.
Staff was friendly, food & beverage was great, and overall experience excellent. We will definitely play this course again!!
Thanks Classic Club for awesome day!!
Great Condition
I booked at the last minute and due to a frost delay and being a single the actually got me out early with a 3 others. The couse was in excellent condition and although we could not keep up to the group in front of us we did finish in just well under 4 hours. We were finally caught by a twosome on 17. T-boxes, fairways and greens were alli in great condition. I had played here a couple years ago and at that time the fairways were not as good. I enjoyed a great talipia sandwich in the clubhouse after the game.
Classic
Great layout. The staff was great. Greens rolled very smooth and true. Some pins were tough which made two putts difficult.
Outstanding!
When I came to the Palm/Desert Springs area for the first time this year the Classic Club for some reason was not on my list of courses to play. But now I am sure happy a couple I met at the resort I am staying recommended it, not only should it have been on my list but at or near the top! The course was in great shape, both for playing and visually, tee to green. A fair course and it helps to be able to move the ball in both directions but certainly not necessary. There are several holes where you better think ahead and play to your number on the daunting approach to the green. The greens were large, they were small, and in between and all of them rolled excellent. And lastly, the staff, even catching up from the frost delay they were all super friendly, helpful and courteous. I left a lot of shots out there so am looking forward to finding them the next time I am in the area because I will most certainly be playing the Classic Club again!
Fast greens
Course great shape staff very friendly pace of play good
Well worth it
Well worth it.. Great conditions and got round finished in less than 4 hrs.. Amazing views all round the course..
What a golf course
Course was in awesome shape. I will add this to my list of courses i play ever christmas trip out here. Tip it out and bring your A game. It is a very fair course, but there are a couple monsters out here, 10/11 are two great holes.
one of the best
We didn't get the same advantages booking with GolfNow than directly with the golf course. ex: no 15$ voucher. Be careful.
A must do.
The staff was super friendly and the facility was in perfect condition. It will be on my list every year. Be ready for a challenge. I golf 50 to 75 times a year and was challenged several times on this course.
Great Course! A Must Play!
This is a must play course. They had just reopened after being closed for a month to overseed and the conditions were excellent. They also did not require paths only like most of the other clubs do when overseeding, which was a huge bonus. The course is scenic, in excellent condition, challenging, and long enough to keep it challenging at all levels. I would also like to commend the Starter for going out of his way and coming to the driving range to see if I wanted to go out early with the hopes of still being able to finish (twighlight tee time). Good thing he did me that favor even though I didn't ask for it because it was getting dark by the time I finished and the 30 minutes that he let me get out early worked out perfectly. I look forward to playing it again the next time I am in the area and would highly recommend it to a friend.
Good choice
This course compares favorably to other high-end courses in the area (Desert Willow, Indian Wells Resort. I liked it a lot. I will definitely play it again .
