Shadow Hills Golf Club

I have played this course several times in the past. The course is in the worst condition I have seen in the past 5 years. I hope it is because they are beginning the process of over-seeding, but I don't know for sure. The greens were very dry and crusty and did not hold approach shots very well. The fairways were unusually wet resulting in many mud balls from the middle of the fairway. To add variety, there were also areas of the fairways that were burnt out and dry, and other areas that appeared to be ground under repair (although they were not marked). The driving range was oddly turned around - requiring a 400 yard drive to get to it. Perhaps the most annoying part of the round were the swarming gnats throughout the entire golf course. I played rounds in the Coachella Valley each of the past two weekends and did not encounter bug problems at either of the other courses. I hope things improve. This course was in great condition in prior years.

Excellent course ,good condition for late summer,great pace of play . We will return to play again

The course for the most part was in good condition with the exception of some large wet areas on many fairways. It's always enjoyable to play this course.

The course was undergoing renovations and only the front nine were playable. That was nowhere stated when I made the reservation.

Not worth what I paid.

Pace of play was abysmal, and made even worse by people crowding into one side of the golf course only.

The golf shop staff was really friendly, and the holes that were playable were in good condition.

The course and/or GolfNow should have clearly stated what I was signing up for.

Great course for the money.

White tees are long enough to challenge intermediate players. Large sand areas which require you to clear your tee shot past. But not too difficult. Placement is key on a few holes. Fairways are lush and tightly mowed. Lots of undulations (uphill, downhill, sloping shots) so you will rarely have a shot with perfect placement. Some tight greens near water with immediate danger if you miss the green. Holes were placed behind bunkers or near throughout the course. Nice challenge :)

They were reconstructing the 10-18 bunkers so I had to play 1-9 twice. Kind of a bummer. But that will be fixed in August.

No water coolers at any of the holes or a cart lady; so bring some water and Gatorade. They do provide cold wet towels to help you cool down and a cooler for your drinks.

Had a wonderful time and would definitely play again.

When pre-booking the tee-time I did not read that the course was only using 9 holes. The course is doing extensive renovations currently. The nine holes we played were in great condition though and we basically had the course to ourselves. We enjoyed ourselves nonetheless but would likely not have played had we paid attention to the fact that only nine holes were available. Since Troon has taken over management you can notice the improvement in playing conditions. When the renovations are complete I am sure the course will be great.

Great course, offering a fun, challenging layout. Wind can alter club selection significantly, creating its own challenge. Course looked great and played great.

Difficulty increased with 15-30 mph winds. I believe the design of the course would be challenging without the wind. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Facilities were great. Would love to play again. Playing from the white there are 3 500+yd par 5s and two 190 yd par 3s. And with the wind we had forget it.... Still a great day. Will be back.

THE COURSE AND LAYOUT DESIGN WAS VERY NICE AND CHALLENGING... THE GREENS WERE WELL MAINTAINED AND BUNKERS WERE WELL IN PLACE, MAKING IT VERY CHALLENGING.

Played this course once before and enjoy the layout very much. Challenging but generous fairways. A great fun course

Great Staff - 3 guys welcomed me in the pro-shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly to 1st time visitor. Had a starter and Marshall. Greens are firm, fast and roll just like you see them. Water is pretty clear, fairway grass in great shape. Fairways are generously wide on most holes. Sides slopes to fairway so many mishits are still very playable. Includes range balls, heard they have a 18 hole putting course where all are par 3's. So get there early to play the putting course and hit balls, and grab bite to eat. Facilities are a nice as the high dollar courses.

Fun course with stunning views, consistent greens and in overall excellent shape.

My wife and I have played here a few times but had not done so for the previous couple of years. The course is a fair test of golf at our level (20 handicap) with a real sting in the tail with the greens. They are mostly elevated, all of them slope and they were very slick - made it a really interesting round. The staff are exceptionally friendly and we always feel really welcome here - highly recommended to all
