Victoria Hills Golf Club

About
Victoria Hills Golf Club located in Deland has jaw-dropping beauty. Golfers will appreciate Roland Garl's vigorous bunkering, which oscillates between the expansive and the intricate, depending on the hole. An array of pot bunkers, waste bunkers, native wetlands, water sprays, bunkers integrated within a natural setting, and elevation changes rarely seen on a Florida golf course await you. Garl's course is graceful and feminine
Victoria Hills could easily be called "The State of Florida's Garden of Golf,"- inland settings such as this are virtually unprecedented in this state. Yet while the splendor and natural beauty of the property are notable, this is not simply eye candy and lazy golf. Victoria Hills, as one player put it, "is a blast to play". In any evaluation, it's difficult to imagine how a golfer would not rate a round here as one of their most enjoyable in Florida.

used to be nicer
Club house and restaurant are closed for repairs for the next few months...have to pay for the round at the snack bar...no kidding! Much of the beautiful woods integrated throughout the property have been recently bulldozed in order to make room for new housing. I guess thats progress but the course is not nearly as pretty as it once was.
New maintenance team are doing a great job
Grass where there was weeds or bare spots, Tee boxes are much improved. Greens were punched about 3 weeks ago and are recovering nicely. They have a great team working there and I expect the course to be in great shape in a week or so.
Lackluster
The drive up to the course and the people helping were the highlight of the course. Friendliest staff, just super kind and willing to help with information. The driving range was roughhh and the putting green was okay. The track was in poor shape… super bummed cause the layout was nice and the large bunkers in tough locations were placed perfectly… sad part is the bunkers had weeds growing out of them and haven’t been raked or manicured in what seems like forever. 80% of the course is roped off and makes carts practically pointless. Just disappointed cause the layout is so promising
First time playing
I’m from out of state and my daughter lives in town near by and decided to play here . The course is challenging, but needs some TLC .
Course is improving
Course is in decent shape . Greens and tee boxes are ok ...faiways and sand bunkers need some work. But overall it is getting better each time I have played there this summer
Much improved
The course is looking so much better. Most of the greens were excellent and there is now grass on most of the fairways. Still kind of rough in some areas, but overall the best shape I’ve seen in the 3 years I’ve played there.
Honest review
2nd time playing there. Very well managed course. Fairly priced. One of the nicer courses locally. I only have one critique. I wish they would manacure # 17 a little bit, but still my favorite course locally. The people who work there are amazing.
Coming along - still needs time and effort.
I'll start by saying I love this course, and they are charging a fair price considering it is summer and the mixed conditions of the course.
This course used to be a regular in rotation for my Friday afternoon group, but the last couple of times we played it was pretty much unplayable from tee to green.
Coming back yesterday 8/22/25 after about a year away we were happy with the improvements that had been made.
The fairways are much better than they were - there are some areas that will probably never grow grass, but the rest of the fairways were good enougjh - a 6 out of 10.
The greens were true but the speed on the back nine didn't match the slow speed on the front. Teed off at 1 pm so it wasn't morning dew drying out.
Lastly , perhaps 7 or 8 of the holes were cart path only, with no warning. I understand they are working hard to restore the course, and if they had warned us when booking or at least upon check in that would have been appreciated.
Nice course
The hard work being put into the course seems to be paying off! The greens are in nice shape. However, the tee's could use a little more work.
Someone needs to keep an eye on keeping ice in the coolers on the course.
Course layout
Course is in fair condition and the greens keeper is doing a great job trying to return the course to its original condition. Keep up the good work.
Might be that last time
This course has fallen from grace.
I live around the corner and am usually at this facility a few time a week practicing they to prep for Q school, I’ll play it in a pinch but this last round was the final nail in the coffin.
Pace of play was horrible, with a group of six in front of me, each player hitting multiple balls and not caring how much time they were taking. There is no ranger to even attempt to keep things on pace, and the range……. It’s a drainage ditch! Sorry just can’t waist the money here anymore. Hopefully the new groundskeeper, who seems to doing a great job with the course conditions, can help elevate this at one time great facility.
