Uphall Golf Club
About
Uphall Golf Club began in 1895, when the golf course was erected on terrain leased from Sheriff Shairp, who lived on the neighboring Houston Estate. It's a convenient golf course to reach, sitting just seven miles west of the Edinburgh Airport, outside of Uphall Village. It is an 18-hole parkland course set amidst mature trees and features relatively flat land within somewhat tight boundaries, making for a test for all golfers.
Uphall Golf Club's course measures 5,588 yards at par 69. A round of golf kicks off on Mains, a par 4 that comes in at 404 yards from the medal tees. It makes for a challenging opening hole, especially when played into the west wind, requiring an accurate tee shot so as to stay clear of troubles on the left and right, and then golfers are just a medium-to-long iron from a slim green. The round concludes on Binnie Craig, a par-4, 383-yarder that offers an excellent closing hole, again when that west wind is blowing.
After the round, check out the Uphall Golf Club's clubhouse, where management assures that although you're at a "Members Club," you'll be "made extremely welcome."

Love this course,
I started playing this course a couple off months ago, and now I am a regular visitor.
The course is in great shape, due to the hard work from the staff,. It’s not to long with some short par 4s, with the signature hole being the Par 3 16th, I would definitely recommend this course to anybody who hasn’t played it before.
Beautiful course not for high handicappers!
my friend and I enjoyed around but are both high handicappers and the odd slice and hook was often followed by a "fore" shout.
Often an occasion where a ball would fly past you or bounce fairly close as a lot of the greens, tees and fairways overlap and are very close together. These were the only negatives for the course however. It is in a fantastic condition. Pro shop staff and the members all very friendly and will definitely play again once I feel like we have more control of the ball!
Fairways greens tee box's feel like targets
Played a 2 ball here today and high marks for Pro shop and quick where to go and what to look out for, very friendly.
Greens small but in great condition, held the ball and very consistent fast speed.
Course layout felt almost dangerous though with shared fairways and greens, serveal tee boxes and others greens in range while playing your hole, just felt tight and squeezed into too small an area.
Uphall golf course
Cracking wee track, what a joy to play off of fairways (No mats) at this time of year. Lots of quirky holes, great all round wee course. Will definitely be back.
Great
Great wee course. Some nice looking holes and not too difficult for higher handicappers.
Dissapointed
Due to this courses review score on golfshake was expecting something far better. Must say pro was chatty & helpful explaining quirky first few holes. Majority of the greens were pretty poor though. Was £14, so not expensive. Though there are better courses in the local area.
Great Golf Experience
Played Uphall during pre session time I.e. end of March . Course was in good condition for time of year . The greens unfortunately were being treated and therefore were not true .
Layout of course has not changed much over the years , and is a good test of golf for the average golfer . Most holes are a test , and all are interesting with a challenge.
Very friendly staff within golf shop , and a pleasant atmosphere amongst other golfers on the course . Would and will definitely play Uphall again .
Uphall December 2018
I had an excellent round of golf at a good pace. Despite the warning of frost and ice- 18 full greens and course very much playable. Staff helpful and friendly- nice atmosphere.
Ideal for intermediate golfers
Nice course once you get across the road where it opens out after a tight first three holes.
Lots of crossovers where you have to be mindful of other golfers.
Course is well maintained and in great condition after the recent dry spell.
Good conditions
Course was in good knick, greens very good, one shared green and a few worrying tee box placements in the way off other holes but really enjoyed my round and the roll of the greens
Great coarse
Very good coarse with some challenging holes the drainage system is excellent as we had a lot of rain over the weeks before playing and the staff very helpful and friendly enjoyed the day.
Quirky but enjoyable
Very friendly staff and members. Strange layout on first few holes but opens out into an enjoyable layout. Great for a works outing as a lot of the holes cross and so good for banter.
Uphall golf day
We had an excellent thoroughly enjoyable day at uphall
