5 Star Beauty
It’s so rewarding to find a great place like this when you’re on vacation and are not familiar with the courses in the area. Beautiful layout, manicured conditions, awesome bar & restaurant, exceptionally friendly & helpful staff. I’ll be playing this one again before heading home.
Top shelf course, Bargain price!
I know it got
In Florida right now people… I play golf in Jax area once a week. Outside of Private, yet, also including them, this course is in fantastic shape. The best I have played all year except for Lake Jovita. When you go to TPC Sawgrass - you know that - wow it’s green feeling. Greens are not at TPC level but all else is. Roll the Greens! They would be Magic! Awesome course and staff.
Course is Back
This course has put the effort into getting back to good condition which is great to see in our area! Only thing that would make this 5 stars across the board is if the greens were faster. They were smooth though! Well done!!!!
Slow , slow and slow
This course is by far probably the slowest course around Jacksonville . Every round is nearly 5+ hours . No one has any clue about golf etiquette or playing through. Greens are also probably some of the slowest in Jacksonville. Fairways are fine, tee boxes are hit or miss. Best part is the layout is good. Overall as much as I want to like the course I won’t be playing anytime soon unless I want to torture myself for 5+ hours waiting between every shot
Keeps getting better.
Staff is always great and soon they will be the best in the area.
Great layout, always in very good condition. Super friendly staff.
Been playing this course since the late 80’s. Always one of myi favorites in the area. Really appreciate the upgrades to the clubhouse and grill. Course is always in great shape, especially fairways and greens. A couple of tee boxes were a bit sandy, but overall, very good.
Looks good, very slow greens
Some tee boxes being redone or regrown due to shade problems, but most are fine. Fairways and rough are good (and thick rough for the club championship this past weekend). But the greens are super slow. Like maybe a 6? Not even "average". You have to hammer everything.
Good course, but pricey and uppity
This was a fun course, good layout and condition, carts are a little slow and the staff is not friendly, starting with the gate guard and flowing through proshop and starter. It’s also an aging course, and it shows. Cart path isn’t in great shape, and the vegetation around them is overgrown. All in all a good experience but for $80 after tax it’s a bit pricey for what it is.
Nice course
Good course, better than decent shape. Slooow greens
Overbooked poor management
Pace of play is awful, the rangers don’t do their job. It’s incredibly overbooked. Groups of 8 playing together it’s just immature and awful. This place needs mosquito joe very badly. The amount of gnats will overwhelm you.
Challenging
Decent conditions, best greens on 210 although very slow. Rough needs cutting. Water on 16 holes so be straight. If you can get it for under $55 it's a good deal.
Punched greens
Greens were punched and sanded making them slower than they are already. Had we known, would have played a different day.
ask about aerification
We played on the sunday after a Thursday aerification . There was no warning. The greens we awful...sandy, bumpy and slow. They charged full price. We like Cimarrone. Just don't play it right now and/or don't pay full price.
Too expensive for current conditions
Normally a decent track but it’s rough at the moment. Arrived at 9am, restaurant/bar not open for breakfast food or drinks to take onto the course. It rained pretty good the last couple days so I can’t complain about range mats or cart path only. A lot of the tee boxes, especially par 3’s, are brutal. No where to stand not in a divot. Fairways looked good. The greens were all sand with NO mention when checking in for the tee time. To then spend $100 with out any grass is wild. It’s gonna take 4 weeks for any grass to come through. Our tee time was also pushed back 20 minutes upon check in with no explanation other than “the members mentioned something, I’m not sure”. Just really not a great day from a course that should be fantastic. The lone bright spot was the gentleman getting carts ready and loading/unloading bags. He was a pleasure to chat with briefly.
