Cimarrone Golf Club

I have been playing here since the course was bought and renovated. The conditions tee to green are very good except in a few bare areas. Drainage on the 8th hole continues to be a problem and results in cart path only, EVERY round. The real problem is the slow speed of the greens. You can't make any putts on these greens because the ball stops like its on Velcro, even downhill. This is a 5 star layout held back by slow greens. If the course next door (Stillwater) can have greens running at normal speeds, I don't understand why this facility continues to keep them slow and bumpy!

Our four ball Teed off at 8:48 behind a 3 some who we only saw for the first three holes. 3:40 pace of play. Drought conditions is the only thing not giving a higher rating. Greens are in nice shape and lush, just very slow to putt. Will return when the rains come!!

Nice day, but backed up several times throughout the day. Need to spread out the tee times based on handicaps.

Won’t let singles book a tee time. Called the pro shop and they said it was their policy. Reached out to GM to clarify- no response. Super disappointing

An extraordinarily long round do to a rude foursome in front of us. they were Palm Valley type golfers. One gentleman was a member.(he had his own cart.) he should know better. The management did not lift the finger to correct the situation. Definitely will not be back. Bad news travels fast!

I've been playing the course for more than 20 years and I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Currently, the course is just a step below the resort courses of King & Bear and Slammer & Squire at less than half the course.

My friend Davie was extremely happy that I invited him to play the course and when he returns next year said he'd play Cimarron a lot more with me.

The owner has done a fine job bringing the course into top shape. Nearby courses should be worried.

Didn't know of course event until arrival so had to go off back nine. Caught an 8-some playing a best ball scramble after 3 holes and followed them until they split at 18 so the clubhouse wouldn't see them. Ranger passed them and said/did nothing.

Then, at the turn to one, everyone playing nine holes were now being sent off the front which slowed the pace to a screeching halt. Called the pro shop and ranger did come out but only placated with "the pro shop sent them off", "sorry", "I understand", "maybe they will give you a pass". We then literally waited FOR EVERY SINGLE SHOT for nine holes and, surprisingly, were able complete the 18 we paid for after teeing off at 2:45.

After probably 20 years, will likely not play here again.

Interesting track, with some challenges. Course was in beautiful shape, with the greens in great and consistent roll condition!

Course was well maintained and in great shape. Lots of water and is a challenging course with some very difficult holes. Will come back to play.

I’ve been playing at Cimarrone for over 20 years. I stopped playing there quite a while ago when the course - under prior ownership and management - fell onto hard times. But since the new ownership took over several years ago, they have made significant improvements to the course, clubhouse and infrastructure. The layout is very challenging and requires precision off the tee. Now the conditions are very good, including the greens and most of the fairways. Once the Bermuda comes in when the weather warms up, it’s going to be very perfect! Love the new clubhouse and bar. Friendly staff and patrons. Great value and now on list of top semi-private courses in Jax area.

Great course and in great condition. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Loved the round. Only downside was not a great grab and go options for the turn. Also be prepared there is some water.

The layout is pretty cool. Very playable.off the tee. Some of the slowest greens I've ever played. Some guy i played with said its some salt water grass. Its so thick i could barely fix my ball marks. Marshall was very rude. Honestly, most of the staff were standoffish. I played on 3-24-26 @ 9am so whoever the Marshall was at 11am was the guy who was rude. IIf he wasnt rude, i would play here again. But he was, so i will gladly take my money somewhere else. Fleming island is way better for the same price.
