Beautiful course....
We always enjoy playing at Arrowhead. The course is beautiful and was in really good condition. It's definitely challenging but definitely worth it.
LOVE this course!
Arrowhead Point IS the best course for the money. It is sooooo gorgeous, especially the back 9. Everything is just the way you want it...manicured tee boxes, groomed and well kept bunkers, smooth curbed concrete cart paths, immaculate fairways, forgiving course layout, perfect “carpet like” greens that are unblemished and just challenging enough. Yardage is marked with inground granite markers as well as the cart paths, the rough is wall to wall Bermuda and kept deep and thick enough to keep your ball from going out of bounds but not so deep that it disappears the moment it stops. The best treat of the day is arriving at the 12th green and taking in the envious views of Lake Russell from the varied course elevations for the next 5 holes. Simply put..well worth the trip (for me, 50 minutes) for some of the best golf around.
Georgia State Park Treasure
All I can say is WOW! Wasn't sure what to expect as we were looking for a golf stop on our way to a business trade show. After finding this course we will make this an annual stop. The course was fantastic, and the back nine was picturesque with several holes along the lake. The greens were in great shape, fairways were awesome. Have to say, the rough was a little higher than we are used to - which made hunting for an errant shot a little rough.. Pun intended! Very challenging yet fair. Played the Blue tees and it was a great test.
Excellent venue
Stunning course layout with Lake Russell in view on many holes. Excellent condition and friendly staff. Young ladies Hope and Tabitha in the pro shop provide excellent customer service.
Great Course - Great Condition - rough IS a little high in places
Folks that live near Arrowhead Pointe are very lucky. Exceptional course with great views and a lot of fun holes. Had a group that stayed on site in cabins. They're nice, not great but you're there in the middle of nowhere for the golf. Have been here a number of times and this time the rough as people have said is a bit long in places. How can I say that,? We didn't lose any balls but over 2 days of play while searching for our balls we found over 12 balls in the rough.. almost had to step on the ball to find.
If you're out near here..give it a play.. Suggest Golfnow for the tee times..better rate was found there than us pre-booking because we were in cabins.
Great Georgia gem
Great golf course. Greens are smooth and firm. Running about a 10 on the stimp. Beautiful holes on the lake. Narrow fairways. Highly recommend.
Arrowhead
Course is great, rough a little high but there should be a penalty for missing the fairway!!! Great experience with friends.
Great course
This course is always in great shape. Its beautiful. Its challenging and fun without being too difficult. Its worth the drive to play.
One of best in the state
Such a beautiful and challenging course. You won't find many country clubs better than this State Park Course.
Definitely worth the ride
A great layout with lots of lake views. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in excellent condition. Pace of play would be helped if the rough were kept shorter. Spent way too much time searching for balls that were 3 to 5 feet into the rough. Basically had to step on ball to find it. Spoke with several groups that shared this point of view. On another note, I found lots of good balls in the rough while looking for mine.
I had heard about this course a lot from friends.
Very nice layout. Challenging but fair. On some holes the Bermuda rush was too deep resulting lost balls that should be found. Otherwise the course has wide fairways and large greens. The sand bunkers were very well kept. I would definitely come back and play again.
Great Layout, great condition
On the scale from 1-5. I would give it a 4.95. 0.05 substrated for a little slow green
Great course, TERRIBLE rough
Played for the first time and love the course. Beautiful layout with awesome scenery, some fantastic holes. Only complaint was the rough. I have no problem with a player being penalized for hitting it in the rough, but you shouldn’t risk losing your ball EVERY TIME you miss the fairway. I lost a ball a few feet from the fairway. I dropped a ball in the area, went 10 feet to my cart for a club, and literally almost didn’t find the ball I dropped.
I am planning another round there in October and hope the rough has been cut down to about half what it was this day.
