Beautiful but overbooked
If you have 6+ hours to play 18 holes then this is the course for you. Due to rain the day before every hole was golf cart path only which added some extra walking time but then we sat and waited a lot due to what appeared to be an over booking issue. Long round and over an hour drive from home made for a very long day.
Road trip
First time playing at Arrowhead Pointe at Lake Richard B. Russell. Beautiful state park and the golf course was excellent. Course was in good shape and it was not too crowded. Enjoyed the layout of the holes, especially those along the lake. Views were incredible! Undulating, challenging greens and the bunkers were in good shape as well. Very scenic, enjoyable golf course. Worth the drive
The course is in perfect condition
The only problem is where it is. Not close to anything. But it is worth the drive
Picturesque setting
Challenging course in the state park so no cars or houses which I love. Course is in great shape. Bunkers not the best but they were consistent. It’s a bit of a drive for me but the experience is wonderful and even if you are having a bad day golfing, the setting is so peaceful and scenic that you will enjoy yourself.
my favorite
the most peaceful and beautiful course around, we did have to let a single and 2 -twosomes through our foursome. but the course is a challenging and a good layout.
Beautiful course!
We drove about 150 miles to play this corse and we camped at Richard B Russell State Park campground. Played the course twice and never got tired of the views. The course layout is great with some of the best lake views anywhere. The greens and fairways are in perfect condition. The greens have two or three levels, definitely the hardest I have ever played. So many three putts!!!
My wife drove the cart even though she does not play, she just wanted to enjoy the views.
You should play this course.
Great course, great conditions except for the debris from the storm the day before.I am sure everything will be back to tip top next week when the crew has time to clean up,but otherwise great conditions.
Nice course
I like very much play this course
I play this course 5 times
I drive 2 hours but I enjoy very much
What a gem
Absolutely stunning golf course.
One of the most scenic I've seen.
Clubhouse amenities are great. Extremely friendly staff.
The course conditions are impeccable. Front nine challenging and beautiful, weaving through the state park forests.
But the back nine is where the stunning lake views are. Absolutely incredible. I can't believe this is a state park course and that it only costs 40 dollars on a weekend.
I will definitely return. Well worth the 1 hour drive from my home.
Challenging course with beautiful lake views
Nice layout, challenging course, scenic views make for a great day. Greens are a bit slow but true.
As always Arrowhead Pointe was in excellent shape even with all the rain we have been getting. The maintenance staff does a great job keeping the course in tip top shape, the pro shop staff is always friendly and helpful. This is the best most scenic peaceful course in the area. This is a must play,if you haven't been here you are missing out,I am local, but the stay and play looks like a great guy's trip with a stay in the cabins on the lake.Well worth the drive from anywhere. They also now have a very well stocked pro shop and grill area with very reasonable prices.Put this course on your bucket list.
Views
I played Arrowhead Pointe on 7/27 at 12:00pm. I booked the 12:00 hot deal for $19 for a single. There was a 2-some that also booked the 12:00. The course was somewhat empty and the starter had no problem with me teeing off first as a single. I tee’d off at 11:45 and made the turn at 1:10. Didn’t catch anyone until around #11, which that 3-some let me play thru. My entire round was just a hair under 3hrs. Course was beautiful with awesome views. Stay in the fairway, the rough is legit. Greens were very nice and rolled true. Entire staff from clubhouse to grill were very friendly. Great experience. Will definitely be back again.
Down to Arrowhead Pointe
My friend Ken and I drove down to Arrowhead Pointe at Richard Russell State Park near Elberton. If there was ever a "hidden jewel" of a golf course, this is it. The course is well maintained; the views are breathtaking; and the ameneties are excellent. The people working at the course were warm and friendly and seemed to be interested in our having a good round at Arrowhead Pointe. I have played the course before and found the rough to be "really rough", but today everything was pristine. If you haven't played this course, you're missing a great opportunity. We drove 50 miles to get there and we will be back.
Great round on a beautiful course, greens are still recovering from aeration and pretty slow.Fantastic layout and a scenic back nine.If you haven't played Arrowhead Pointe you should, well worth the drive from any where, they also have cabins to rent would be a good place for people who like to fish and play golf.
This course was very challenging. If you keep your ball in the fairway, you will have a good chance for birdie or par. Great course and fantastic staff!
