Arrowhead Pointe At Lake Richard B. Russell

This place exceeded my expectations as well as the guys I brought with me. We drove a little over an hour from Augusta and could not have been happier! Course in great shape with some punishing rough to deal with. Greens are just a bit slow but roll great, tee boxes and fairways are wonderful, and traps were needing some tlc from recent heavy rains but nothing I was worried about really. Very nice driving range and challenging putting green to get you prepared! Great food inside clubhouse and super staff. Keep offering golfnow options and we will make it a regular stop!

This course offers views and conditions unmatched in the area. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Even if you have to drive an hour or more to play this course its worth it.

Well first off I see that people over rate golf courses on here, and I do not just out 5 stars to any old course. Having said all that I love playing this course it is by far the best of the 3 state parks courses that I have played. So me giving them 3 stars means it a real good golf course. If your a fan of the state park courses then this one is a must play!!!!

Only negative is greens are slow

This course is everything people said it would be. The course is in excellent shape. There were several times I stopped to think is this really a state park course. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. I will be coming here all the time. The only other courses I played that were this good cost three times as much to play.

This is a wonderful course! It would be difficult to play on a better track unless you were a member at Chanticleer or Thornblade. Staff is great and so are the facilities. My issue was with one of the starters who found us parked to close to a green. He asked if we needed a handicap flag. I do poorly with passive aggressive comments and would have expected better. Won't stop me from playing there again, but there is a right way to speak to customers. We were wrong too close to the surface in any case.

Golf staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotdogs at the break were fantastic, and what else can I say about the course... The scenery, greens, and nature are spectacular. All around a 5 star experience.

Played for my first time today drove over 40 miles to get there. Very peaceful. Views of water on back 9 is tremendous. Staff was very helpful and gave me some pointers. Had full service food and very nice proshop. Driving range, putting green. Pace of play was excellent tee time of 8 a.m. passed a 4some and was by myself the rest of the way. Very great especially since it was a Hot deal time! I will be back for sure.

It's a bit of a hassle to get to since it's right on the lake, but well worth it.

Well maintained, and the staff was professional and welcoming to new guests.

Being a public course, it was kept as expected. However if I had to complain about anything, it would be that the greens were too slow. This could be the time of year, but either way, it wasn't bad.

One playing tip. Pay attention to where the lake is while putting. It's a great learning experience on the greens for a player that hasn't putt on such greens.

Take in the sites while you're there. Enjoy. Hit 'em well.

The course was in great condition, especially the greens. We played 18 holes and never saw another golfer. The holes on the back nine that go out and back on a peninsula offer beautiful views of Lake Russell. It is definitely worth the drive to play Arrowhead Pointe.

As the starter told me upon my arrival the course is a hidden gem. Beautiful layout. Course is in great condition with lovely greens. My tee time was 8:10 and I had the entire course to myself for the first hour. This is well worth the drive, which was for me 80 miles. I will return.

Everyone at the course is extremely friendly and helpful. The course is well maintained. The back nine with the lake views will keep me coming back.

Course is in great shape the layout is exceptional. Course is in between on length depending on what tees you choose. Several holes have beautiful views of the lake.

Beautiful course with a beautiful location on lake Russel. Although it was extremely wet, the course was still in good condition. The back side 9 has a several holes that play around the lake providing a view that you'll never forget.

First time making the trek - about 100 minutes from our home, but worth the drive. We chose a tee time during the GA-FL game, so virtually had the course to ourselves! Greens ran true, lots of challenges with rolling terrain and strategically placed bunkers - but overall a very enjoyable round. I used my driver on 3 of 4 par threes, but managed to pull off pars anyway. The water views throughout the back nine were amazing. Highly recommended. BTW - the French fries are superb.

First time playing the course. Local knowledge is important when playing here. Staff was a little curt with us. You could not take the carts to your car to get your equipment. One of the very few places I have played that does not allow that. I will probably play here again, although I live a little over an hour away.

We played Friday, Saturday (36 in the rain) and Sunday last weekend (10/9-10/11) and the course was in AMAZING shape!

Fairways were in perfect shape, thick rough, fast and perfect rolling greens. Even in the rain on Saturday (10/10) the course drained very well, and the greens remained fast & true.

You can't beat the views on the back 9 from 12-16 once you get out on the point. The lake is beautiful.

Overall, the course is tough, but fair, and a pleasure to play.

Definitely my favorite course to play in Georgia, and I try and make it out to Elberton 3-4 weekends a year just to play this gem!

This course had some very nice holes when you start 13 till about 17 is very nice holes great buy for the money

Always a nice course, beautiful setting. Nice secluded course on the beautiful lake russell. Greens are no joke, fast with lots of break. Every part of the course is in top shape. It's worth the drive from anywhere.
