Mount Vintage Golf Club - Independent Course

Clubhouse is beautiful. Staff is very friendly. Golf and beers very reasonably priced. Hardly anyone on the course, so played quickly. Don’t care much for course layout. Way too many sharp doglegs and blind tee shots. One hole (maybe 5th) on Chester that is sloped so severely right to left and down that it’s almost impossible to keep it in the fairway and not lose it without hitting it right of the fairway. Greens were decent but have some spotty areas here and there. Fairways were pretty good but have some thin areas too.

The course was in very good shape for the first week of May. The greens rolled a little inconsistent but that is common around the state now. Staff was very friendly and the weather was great.

Love the layout,it is very challenging,lots of uphill and downhill shots. Would definitely play again.

Course was good, I think the fairways still need some improvement, the greens were a little slow and the overall course was in subpar condition. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful..

only bad parts of course, traps need work and grass needs to fill in with hot weather. some greens need help but most are great

Excellent course rolling hills and multiple elevation changes with beautiful water hazards and a great way to end Masters week the the boys.

I listed as first time playing this course because it’s been 10+ years since I played this course. I’ve heard they were bringing this course back to life after a few tough years. Let me start by saying that they are doing a fantastic job. This course is looking great. The greens were a little slower than I like but I can tell they are working hard to make the A+ green. They are about a B+ and roll smooth. The course is a beast and I can’t wait to get back out there soon to hopefully tame this wonderful beast. Also, the views are amazing, the staff is great, and the amenities are some of the best in our area. Thanks Mount Vintage for a wonderful day of Golf.

I have been playing this course for 10 years. It went from being fantastic and my favorite to awful and a disgrace. It is not quite back to the top but it is definitely heading there --fast!

Congratulations to the Mount Vintage staff and members. You have really turned this course back to the gem it was when I first played here in 2005. Greens have been repaired, speed greatly improved. The course and community are beautiful.

I recent played Mount Vintage Golf Club. I heard the course had some financial difficulties but after hearing the course was purchased by the local HOA who was in process of doing extensive renovations I thought it might be worth a visit. WOW - the course is back! The bent greens are awesome and the new bunkers are fantastic. If you haven't played the course in the last couple of months you should give it a try.

Greens were in pretty good condition as were the fairways. But the rough was terrible even rough parts in some fairways. Rough was 6-8 inches deep spent probably more than an hour just looking for balls when you could see exactly where they went . Won't play this course until they get the rough cut!!!

The course is in horrible shape. The rough looks like it has not been cut all year. The greens are horrible. Burnt with fairway grass growing on them. Bunkers were terrible with the liner coming through the packed sand. Can't believe they think someone should pay $65 for that. Whoever is in charge of taking care of this course should be fired. The local community course in Augusta is in better shape than this place. We will never go back to this course again and I encourage anyone wanting play golf for these green fee's should look elsewhere. It will be money just thrown away. Stay away from Mount Vintage.

Nice layout with 3 nines. Course is a little rough but still fun to play.

Course was unmowed and grass dead because of the lack of rain and sprinkler system. Greens were good though and layout was great.

layout was good---6 in. grass in the fairways----bunkers have 6 in weeds in them, not sand.---greens are half dead and have weeds growing on them---This place needs to be closed.---I will never go there again.----What a waste of my time and money..

This course should be one of the best in the state. However, with poorly maintained course conditions, no drinking water on the Chester course, and sand traps that are not manicured following a storm the day before, this course is a mix of a top tier experience and inexcusable actions for a budget course, let alone mount vintage plantation.

There is a difference between making the rough hard and being lazy and not cutting the rough. When weeds in the rough are around 10" tall, I would go with the latter. On the Chester course hole #8, staff decided not to cut a fairway.

I'm disappointed because this course should be the best in the area by far. But a sense of apathy seemed to resonate through the course yesterday that would make anyone think otherwise.

Not a value for money spent. Grass 1 foot off the green was mid calf high with weeds 2 feet tall. Grass off fairways the same. Fairway grass is dieing and very tight lies.
