No greens, no signs, no tee flags
More than half the greens were under repair abd just sand 2 were just flags popped in the fairway... prior warning from pro shop on the day would have been nice.
Course is poorly signed and not easy to follow, no tee box marking on the majority of holes you play off white or yellow or what you hope is a tee box
Its also not worth booking through gilf niw as its the same price to book direct minus the admin fee
This course was a nightmare
Greens absolutely covered with sand, 3 greens out of use and flag on the fairway. No map to tell what direction flags are in, and sometimes difficult to find the right direction for the next hole.
Would not recommend
Wet wet wet
Not played Dalmuir in over 25 years ,having rained heavy overnight and was still raining at tee off the course was very wet,it brought back memories and I also forgot how physical the last 5 holes were ,but overall we had a great day
11 decent holes
Greens were not bad although a few heavily sanded. A bit muddy and damp in places but good value for money and if you want a good workout then the last 6 holes will give you that. Golf and hill walking combined especially up the 13th and 17th.where the greens could have easily been better placed to make them reachable in regulation.
Not sure what the designer was thinking with the second hole either building a pyramid mound in the middle of the fairway and a blind second shot??
Golf pro was welcoming though and pace of play good.
Dalmuir
Good quality council course, excellent value for money.
Mixture of "easy" straightforward holes and some of the toughest holes you'll play anywhere.
Dalmuir gem
A course with a fantastic array of holes ranging from the usually easy wee drop to a very long and uphill road hole. You deffo need to be fit as it is very undulating at times but overall an absolute gem and cheap as chips and I love it .
Cheap but not enjoyable
Not the best of courses, layout pretty abismol. Some very challenging holes, but course in a fairly poor condition to play them. Greenkeepers shouting and Not maintaining etiquette from the joining holes and failed to clear out of the way while excavating a bunker on one hole for play. Won’t sadly return
Regular visitor
Good points
Course is great value for money at £10 probably cheapest in Glasgow area. Reasonably set out out and generally straight forward with a few challenging holes.
Bad points
Holds too much water in places. Hilly back 9 for less able players.
No frills though does have a reasonably stocked shop with helpful staff.
Ideal for players on a budget
dry but wet
it had been raining for days so lost a lot of balls due to them being plugged in the ground. and could not find them more so on the lower part of the course.
this was information that had been given by the club pro before we set off. apart from that had a lovely sunny day and a fantastic round of golf.
After all we do live in Scotland where it rains most days so to get a round in the sun was lovely.
Rough Rough Rough!
Walked off the course by the fourth hole after seeing two semi-naked guys urinating all over the green and so drunk they could hardly stand... they were also trying to play a round of golf. I reckon there were more peaceful tours of Afghanistan than a round of golf here!
Dalmuir golfy
The golfy is a great place tae go whether your an auld duffer playing golf or yer way yer troops getting onit. Bangin place fur fires nd getting tokes. Good onit spot anol.
Dalmuir
Fantastic day out. Played a four ball matchplay. The course was excellent with great par 3s.
Dalmuir.
Good course layout and well maintained during current conditions. First time playing here.
