Not bad for £10
Really nice course but hole layout is quite hard to follow. The back 9 is really challenging. The main bad thing about the course is that people will just jump on as it is a public course so even when it’s busy people will just jump on and play holes randomly
Saturday golf
Really challenging back 9, not only with course layout but with physical aspects of climbs into the bargain. Throughout the round you will use most clubs in your bag. Hopefully the sand wedge doesn’t need to come out. Great layout and great value for a challenging round. Only negative would be the debris left by inconsiderate golfers even though there were no bins to put rubbish in.
Still a lovely, challenging course.
There was some work being done on drains at the 5th and 6th holes so there was some disruption to the normal routes between the 5th and 7th tees. Apart from this, the layout of the course was great. Since I last played 'The Myuni', which must be nearly 30 years ago, there have been some changes to paths on the steep slopes around the Wee Drap, Hill 60 and The Gully to allow trolleys. I elected to carry my bag for the full round but I really could have done with my motorised trolley, particularly on the steep Hill 60.
Pace of play was pretty good with hardly any waiting time on tees. Fairways were great with only a few bare patches here and there and the greens were in terrific condition, unlike my legs today.
The course looks stunning from the view point of the 16th tee and it was a real pleasure to play.
One small point, the card of the course now has no names for any of the holes, which is a pity as new visitors may not know the names like Sow's Back, Bell's Rest, Auchentoshan and Littleholm which really are part of the folklore of Dalmuir.
Course in terrible condition, some holes are a joke
Firstly, I've given 2 stars overall because most of the greens are actually in quite good condition and played quite fast considering it had rained earlier in the week.
The rest is bad. Mud plagues the 5th 6th and 7th holes, and there is a trench currently dug right across the 7th fairway and most of the fairway is sludgy and muddy. I hit a lovely first shot just shy of the trench, but lost the ball as the mud just absorbed it. Completely defeats the point of playing, and to charge £10 to play is like the council taking the mick out of anyone that chooses to show up.
A disgrace, and I'll never be attending again.
Course was boggy about 9-10 holes at places greens where bumpy and full of pitch marks from another player’s not fixing not bad course
Dalmuir Municipal
Great course with many a trying holes. I enjoyed it thoroughly and my ability was tested on nearly every hole. I really enjoyed the 12th, through to the15th especially.
Dalmuir in the winter
Great course layout and some tough holes. Unfortunately after a week of rain the course should have definitely been closed as some of the fairways were heavily waterlogged and mud!!
Dalmuir 21/11
This course was completely unplayable with poor winter tees and greens. The course had puddles of mud everywhere making it unplayable. It should have been closed
Decent round
Decent condition considering the weather we have had some tricky holes. Would definitely play again. With it being a counkckl course didn’t expect as good as shop and would be nice if it had a bar but wouldn’t be open just now with the current guidelines anyway
Good round
Enjoyed visit back to dalmuir, great to see summer greens still on,there was some muddy parts but didnt interfere with play and understandable with all the rain last few weeks.
I recommend a round here,the back 9 a challenge with hills
Great value & Enjoyable
Great value for money course and a few interesting holes. Fun & satisfying to play. Slightly damp but to be expected for this time of year
Course in good nick!
First time playing the course and will not be my last. Course is in fantastic nick, obviously well looked after. Some fantastic holes, some tricky holes. Fair warning, there are some holes that will leave you needing some CO2 at the top.
