The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Great change of pace
A Florida golf course with some contours. I wouldn't say elevation changes, but not flat is always welcome.
The course is in fine shape for this time of year and a cold one at that. still dormant but tees and greens are in good shape. Very friendly and helpful starter. thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Always enjoy this course
Winter conditions but still enjoy the layout - bring all your clubs. Every hole is different and brings unique problems or scoring opportunities. 16, 17, 18 still my favorite finishing holes in the area. Has been my go-to course for 3 years now. Never disappoints
NORTHAMPTON
The course was in very good shape! We had a great time! Thanks
Great course but ownership has let it go..
I used to work at this course and I was always proud to recommend it.
The last couple of times I've played it I've noticed it's not nearly as nice as it had been ..The greens of are really awful.
Grass is very thin and non existent in a lot of areas..the fairways are dormant but not as full as they've always been..the bunkers have always been bad so I didn't expect them to be very good.
I've heard the course is for sale again..
I hope someone buys it soon and restores it to the great course it once was...
Tough but fun
Fairways in great shape, greens are coming along. Sand traps are not in good shape. Definitely needs some work there.
Great layout but greens in poor condition
The staff here is great Bob the starter found out that it was my first time playing here and asked me a few questions to determine my skill level. He then gave me a brief description of the course, proper tees to play and a few holes if I hit driver will find water that I can not see from the tee. Loved the course lay out did not feel like I was in Florida. The greens looked a little tired.
It's a Shame
This course was once a jewel. Since I moved away 2 years ago, this course transformed into a pit. Once the greens were perfect and slick, now they are diseased and inconsistent. I couldn't have been more disappointed in the new ownership. Save your money and play at any other course near Amelia island.
Interesting and fun layout. Greens were patchy and fairways a little shaggy.
Nice Palmer layout but greens have been neglected
It's a shame what's happened to North Hampton over the golfing seasons and change of ownership. Many of the greens are diseased with blotches of bare spots. Since chipping and putting is about a third of the game, the green fee price doesn't support the condition of the green complexes. The rest of the course is in fairly good shape although some bunkers have a thin layer of sand. To play them like a real bunker, you must rake the sand to break it up and then replace your ball, Hope they make the necessary improvements.
We did experience excessive amounts of rainfall in June and July which led to the development of unwanted fungi. The Agronomy team has applied the necessary treatment and we expect the greens to be back to their perfect condition soon! I can assure you this has nothing to do with the stewards of the course, and all to do with Mother Nature.
Difficult but fun
Have played North Hampton several times over the years. Always enjoy the layout. Difficult for the first time player. If you are a single digit handicap, then you have a chance.
The course staff was very nice. Both inside and out. Had lunch there as well and service was excellent. Food, typical bar/ casual food.
Course was in good shape on the tee and fairways. The greens on the other hand were not good. Patchy in places. Moderate level of sand applied to greens to level off surface. Needless to say, the greens were slow and bumpy.
I played on a day with perfect weather and enjoyed my time there. I would, however, not play it again until the greens get better. Expect it to take some time.
Thanks for taking the time to come out. We did develop a fungus on some of the greens, which has been stopped by the Agronomy Team. We do let the fairways grow out to prepare for the winter so that there is a little fluff for our golfers. No one like to play off the tight winter lies! We'll be back to what you expect in no time at all!
Great layout
Nice golf course with no two holes alike. Greens are large and often three clubs with lots of break. People are friendly and everyone will love this course. Good mix of tees and would recommend playing a set of the shorter tees as this track plays long.
a Top Value Course
Played here on a quiet afternoon Course was great very scenic and many tee choices so something for everyone ! Put it in your must play list if in the area.
Great value too
Great Bargain and a challenging layout.
Course was in excellent condition and was a very good layout. Service was friendly and great. I will definitely play here again.
Tough layout but a lot of fun to play
This golf course is tough but a lot of fun to play. The nature surronding the course is awesome. We joined the club the next day after playing. Great deal for seasonal membership for both a single or family plan. The cart boys and restaurant staff are super friendly and helpful.
Greens were on the slow side. Starter said they are still recovery from some issues. The course is beautiful and has some challenging lay outs requiring lay ups. Staff was extremely friendly.

Actually, the ownership has spent countless dollars and time investing in the greens to help recover from a fungus due to significant rainfall throughout the summer months. Then a hurricane hit and halted progress on the bunkers. As a former employee, we do appreciate your comments and you continuing to play at North Hampton.
