The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Not Bad
The only, and I say only, issue is that on the back 9 we ran into a 2some, ahead of them a 4some, and ahead of them a 5some. Very slow on the back, waited every shot. 5 players is a bottleneck, and we hope the course doesn't condone it.
Love the layout and greens
Very interesting layout and challenging greens.
Takes a couple rounds to learn (or use the course guide)
Might be a tad more difficult than rated
Can't stop play
Even Hurricane Irma can't stop play at North Hampton!
A great course , a great team that had everything looking perfect a few days after the storm!!!
Had my first hole in one and just think this is one of the best course in Florida. Thanks to Arnold Parmer and a unbelievable course layout.
Enjoy this course many time a year cause it is worth every penny.
Palmer beauty.
All staff was friendly. Layout was great. Only bad part was the greens were recently punched and sanded. I'm coming back to play it when they are in their normal state. It's a must play I the Amelia area.
Great Course - Excellent Value
Course conditions were excellent, bunkers are deep and tough, avoid them. Greens are fast with lots of break, take your time to line up putt and read the break of the green.
One of the best courses in Northeast Florida.
Good
Everything was excellent except one of the groundskeepers tore up the greens and the fringes
Club at North Hampton
as a long time golfer, I can't say anything be good things about this course, the staff, the clubhouse, and the restaurant. I met the owner and the chef while I was there and it was a 5 star experience overall. The course is difficult, but not brutal. The fairways and greens were in perfect condition. The restaurant had some of the best Grouper I have ever eaten. I highly recommend a visit to this course if you are visiting Amelia.
Great way to start the 4th of July
Played a great course before the bbq.
Excellent shape and had a great time with my son. Saw him shoot a 78
New Faotite course
Played for second time. Love this course. So much more variety of holes than typical course in this area. Great conditions and fun to play. Of the 50+ courses I've played in this area it is in top 5. Play it - you will like it!
Good Layout
Great layout, but greens always seem to be setup for a PGA tournament. Best to layup a try to hit a soft chip onto the green, nothing else seems to stick on the greens.
Doesn't accept discover cards
My only complaint is that they don't accept discover cards
Played the green tees but white tees are perfect for intermediate level players. Course was in great condition. Layout was challenging but not difficult. Best course in Jacksonville area for the money!
What a Great Surprise! Fantastic
Never played here and stopped on our way north. Decided to play it once, but after our first round, w stayed an extra day for another.
Course conditions are great, not a weed to be found and well manicured. Thy only negative was the conditions of the bunkers but with more than 20" of rain, what could be expected. However even with that much rain, the course drained well and was a pleasure to play. The greens are huge and hole location knowledge is essential. This is a shot-makers course. The fairways are wide, but you must play to the correct spot. Number 2 is a killer if you think you can carry the fairway water hazard on the left. Many shots require course knowledge, not your visual perception. They provide a course guide and using it is advised.
For me I can't wait to get back this way again, and of course, play this course again.
Not a typical Florida course
Haven't played there in a while. They had made changes to the ladies tees. I found some of them too easy and others didn't help with how hard the hole was. There are quite a few difficult holes for all tees. Lots of water, carries and bunkers to be found. Some blind shots as well. It's a great layout with lots of interest, scenery and wildlife.
Played the front in a nice pace, but got bogged down on the back. The back does play harder. Liked the par 3's. Course in really good condition. Greens weren't too fast.
A good Saturday afternoon!
The course is in great shape! Larry the starter got us out earlier than our 2:10 tee time. The course had a few folks, a tournament was finishing up, so a little wait for carts. Our group of three is a little fast, teeing up early put us right behind a foursome and a twosome behind us. The twosome we could see in the fairway as we walked up to the green. The foursome was not slow, but at one point all of us found ourselves on the same hole. Group in front on green, we are in the fairway, and twosome at the tee box. We sorted it out, and played through and decongested ourselves. This is rare, I have played the course a few time, but worth the mention. The bunkers are harsh, something out of the British Open. Deep, really deep. A few bunkers had some standing water, we've had a good amount of rain, just don't hit into a bunker. Overall a good round, plenty of fun and the clouds keep us cool, it could have been harsh. Heading out again soon!
Always solid
I simply play this course too infrequently. I've had buddies come to town on golf trips and we play many private courses but invariably North Hampton sticks out amongst the favorites mentioned by all who make the trek. Course was in great shape and although we played forward tees (whites) instead of normal Blues which took the driver out of the hands on a few more holes than I would like, it still always comes down to the putting and short game for scoring on this track. It's arguably one of my favorite layouts in North Florida and a must play if you're in the area not withstanding an incredible value for the money. You won't be disappointed.
Conditions
Overall good condition, sand traps need a lot of work
