The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Great layout
Great layout, friendly staff, drought seems to left the course dry with weeds encroaching on tee boxes, fairways. I'd love e to play it again after a month of rain. Overall enjoyed the course, challenging layout, friendly staff.
Five Star
This is one of the most beautiful and challenging courses that I have played in the Jacksonville area. I will certainly revisit it.
Arnie Did Great!
It's a great course (designed by Arnold Palmer) and it will challenge you on many levels from every tee. Be prepared to use every club in your bag. If you don't hit it straight, bring lots of balls. Starter was very informative and friendly.
Awesome
Such a fun design, great views everywhere. Course mostly in excellent shape, but greens were a little spotty and sandy. Doesn't really affect play much. Favorite course I've played in FL!
Great course
This course is under new management so I'm not sure if it was their decision to remove the GPS units from the carts, but I sure miss that feature.
Course is a little dry but its been very dry here for months.
Overall I like this course and it was a nice relaxing afternoon for playing 18.
Great course and value!
We had an 8:00 tee time and thoroughly enjoyed our round from start to finish. Only reason I gave the course 4 stars in the course condition column is because the greens still showed signs from being punched the week before so I don't know how they would be when fully recovered! The course is tough but fair, although the wind we played in made the course (especially the back) tougher. For $68 it was a great value and if I am in the area will play it again!
FUN COURSE
FUN COURSE TO PLAY/ GREAT HOLES/ GOOD SHAPE / FAIR WAYS NOT PLUSH/REASONABLE PRICE/ FAR FROM MY HOME
A walk never spoiled
Overall great course and staff.I would like to see guest fill divots with provided sand and fix a ball mark or two. The 19th hole has great drinks, the Lunch and friday night dinner is awesome also.
Fun course to play.
I would play this course again. It's a must cart course unless you like long walks between holes. I definitely recommend playing here. Conditions were very good. Lay out was excellent and fun to play.
Most Enjoyable
Great Course. Will definitely play again when in jville area.
Thanks for coming to visit.
We are looking forward to that return trip!
Really fun layout
I played this course for the first time. It has a really great layout with many fun and challenging holes. The pin placements were insane the day I played. The course was really dry and the with the wind the greens were terribly fast. That wouldn't have been bad except a lot of the greens were bumpy, which with speed made it very difficult to putt. The bunkers could use some more sand because they were thin and mostly dirt. Maybe it was the type of sand, but I didn't feel like the bunkers were in great shape. I would definitely play here again because it's a great price!
Thanks for the review. We are currently in the process of adding a new type of sand to many of the bunkers on the course. Glad you had fun!
Great time
Course in good shape on comparison to other area courses. Great layout. Greens good.
What a great course
We wanted to break our journey from Orlando to Savannah and were lucky that this course was picked purely for that reason. The area was not known to us and we were delighted with this challenging course - friendly staff. The course was spread widely with most holes hidden from the others. The greens were SO difficult to read, and a three putt was easy if you were on the wrong side of the hole. We both loved it, and it is in a really great part of the world, North of Jacksonville. The Crab Trap is only 15 minutes away on the Historic Town. Heaven!
We love the Crab Trap! Thanks for stopping on your journey to visit us! We'll see you the next time through!
While We're Young!
We made a tee time during a recent visit to the area based on positive reviews on golf now. We had a 12:50 tee time and arrived 30 minutes early to loosen up. First, they had run out of carts so we had to wait for someone to finish to put our clubs on a cart. Then we bought some range balls only to learn that they had run out of those too. So then we proceeded to the tee for a 12:50 start. We teed off on time only to find 3 groups lined up on the second tee box. THREE hours later we had finished the 9th hole. We ended our round at 6:37. Over 5 &1/2 hours for a round of golf is just wrong. If your going to hold tournaments on the weekend you still need to make sure the pace stays at least <5 hours.
On 14 we came to the tee box only to find two threesomes playing the par three together. After teeing off they drove the cart over to the water and left it there until they finished (yes, on the par three). We called and the manager did come out and apologize, refunded 1/2 our fees (and the cost of the range balls that were never provided), and offered a future free round.
On the positive side, we loved the course and the staff was very friendly and courteous. The course was in great shape, the greens were fast and in great shape for this time of year. The course offers many interesting holes with well placed bunkers and hazards. It's a great layout and several sets of tees offer golfers of all levels a reasonable choice. But no service recovery can make up for a pace that is totally out of touch with where the game needs to go. Hopefully management will pay more attention to ensuring that pace of play does not deteriorate to such an unacceptable level (tournament or not).
zero customer perspective
Played two holes in wind and rain. Said we'd get a raincheck if weather worsened. It did and we gave up. These clowns gave us a credit for 9 holes ! Not worth arguing with penurious management but never set foot on this track again. Course has good skeleton but in poor condition...fairways are bare. Greens resemble, in places, a miniature golf course with a sadist setting pin placements at least on one of the two holes played. Course clearly needs professional management as this club is an amateurish "club".
It's very interesting that someone would leave such a review after playing only 2 holes. I guess the other 300 plus people got it all wrong.
We're sorry you had a poor experience in addition to poor weather. We do have a rain check policy in place which allows 9 hole credits if you play more than 4 holes and less than 13 holes. Bermudagrass fairways do thin slightly in the winter due to colder temperatures, but we're growing and in great shape now!
Challenging Course
Beautiful Golf course with some elevation for this area. Would recommend a layout of the course on the score sheet. Will play here again.
Greens very fast
Playing this course for $20 was a nice bargain. They should open up more tee times at this rate. The course was empty. This time of year, early March, fairways and rough were still dormant, and stray shots were not penalized. Putting was great after agjusting for speed of greens. 3 Long birdies with old putter (being given a fourth or fifth chance) from somewhere deep in the closet.
