Golfer Reviews
Only one drawback
Greens where under repair and on some greens we putted on sand.
Eye opening
Things started off decent enough , it was a very diverse and inclusive course as their website said, a wide range of people there but you wouldn’t feel you would normally be golfing ,The course definitely had a more laid-back attitude than most I’ve ever been at, the course layout was reasonable the fairways were decent and the greens although they were aerated showed that they would be pretty fast if they were in normal conditions,But everything else sucks, the rough is the worst I’ve ever played , it took so much time to find any ball , you needed to be within a 15 foot radius of your ball to even have a chance of finding it, there were several lost balls by everyone playing, pace of play was much slower because of that,My roommates car had a attempted break-in in the parking lot in the middle of the day…. There were bums walking around the property , homeless encampment right next to the park, We were forced to share carts in our group, and those cards ultimately died before we finished our round and we had to finish the round walking….. upon finishing our around and the person in the clubhouse refused to give us even any sort of compensation or a refund, not even just the cart itself, we were told to call back in a few days when the manager was around … we got treated in a very niggardly fashion, I have never seen a cheaper stingier golf course in all my days playing, 1/10 The only reason I gave it a one is because it’s gold and we played golf, would definitely not recommend and would definitely tell people to avoid this place at all cost, I’m the best I’m the champ
So Darn Slow
The pace of play was horrendous. They sent us out as a 2-some and by the time we hit the 2nd hold we were waiting on 3 groups. Never improved and took about 5 hours to play a short course. Really poor experience.
7 Hour round
All in all a fun day but t times every 6 minutes and over 6 hours in we quit after 15 could not take the waiting torture very sad for an otherwise more than acceptable day
Tee times backed up over a hour
My group had a 7:24am tee time. Their were at least four or five groups waiting. Ended up teeing off at close to 8:30am. Didn’t even finish the 18holes.
Second Round - will return
Staff was VERy friendly and helpful. The course was in good condition with one exception - the greens are in nice shape but are somewhat “bumpy” making it difficult to judge the speed of the putt. The course gets a lot of play. We enjoyed the round and will return.
Course conditions surprisingly good
When I first played this course a year and a half ago, it was a dump. No grass in the fairways, no bathrooms, no snack shop, terrible roughs.
I’ve played there twice in the last month and it was a completely different place. Fairways were in great shape, especially compared to Alondra, encino/ balboa. The rough was even better than the rough at Los verdes.
Pace of play was slow- about 4.5 - 5 hours. Too many groups on the course who don’t play ready golf. But considering the course conditions, I’d go there over Alondra any day of the week now.
