Golfer Reviews
Waste of time and money
This will be my last time playing at Chester Washington. I paid $61 for my round and was only able to play 9 holes because the pace of play was atrocious. There was a 4 group pile up on the 7th hole that destroyed the entire round. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes. For $61 I would expect a much better experience. If this is how the rounds move at this course, they should cut there prices in half.
Tee off 30 minutes past booked time, 7 HOUR ROUND
We teed off 30 minutes late. Every single hole was backed up by 2 groups. We walked off after 13 holes. Literally would’ve taken 7 hours to finish 18.
I guess that’s what you get when you allow tee times to be booked every 4 minutes. Will not be back for a while.
One of my favorites
Chester Washington golf course is a really nice course, well taken care of, pace of play was good. Sometimes it can be a bit slow but mainly a good pace.
Really gone down hill
I've regularly played this course since several years ago. It's really gone down hill since I first played. The staff are rude, the pace of play is slow, the greens are mediocre, and the bunkers are mud half the time. I am constantly losing balls because people are grabbing them and there are random people walking the course half the time (don't leave your stuff unattended). The staff seem to think it's everyone else's problem but their own that this place is garbage. Might be time to reassess where the problem areas really are and start making corrections. Will never play her again thanks to 3 bad experiences in a row.
conditions
Bunker has a no sands it is like a hard ground, and grass of a fairway has a poor conditions.
A Great Course at a Snail's Pace
I'll start by saying the course was in beautiful shape. The greens were great and quite tricky. You could see that the recent rain had helped fill in some of the dry spots with lush green grass in spots on the fairway. The rough was a little long but made for some fun and challenging shots.
We had a 10:24 tee time on a Saturday so I knew it was going to be a slow round but it was worse than I thought. We teed off 20 minutes late and the round took... wait for it... nearly 6 hours! The sun was setting as we finished. Quite insane. So I went at a bad time and that was that but again, very nice course. I'd love to play it again on a weekday morning or something but you wouldn't catch me out there on a Saturday morning again. No sir.
The pro shop was closed because they weren’t staffed. We had to pay for are round of golf on the turn.
Great staff, bad policies and charge!!
The staff were extremely friendly. However I’m not sure why I got charged for a no show when I was clearly there AND played?? Can someone from GOLFNOW or CW advise??
