Chester Washington Golf Course

I love the layout and the challenge but the course maintenance leaves a lot to be desired. The fairways and rough were okay for the first 5 holes. Then it changed to a poorly maintained course. I had to switch to a longer T at the T box to have the ball high enough to hit of the Tee. The rough of the fairway was brutal and made it very difficult to see the balls even when you were close by. The most the disappointing thing is that the greens have been so bumpy the last few time I played the course that it is a crap shoot to make a give-me. If the greens had been in better shape I can put up with the rough but not when both are that bad. On top of that they were short on carts again!

Good course layout but lots of debris of leaves and branches. The rough is thick and overgrown to the point wheee it can be difficult to make good ball contact. Some greens were a bit overgrown which made for slow putts on spongy grass. Some greens were in excellent shape. Some tee boxes mowed great and others weren’t. Some tee boxes were uneven as well. Great course for a quick practice round. Finished in 4 hours on a Wednesday with a 10:30 tee time.

Course is greening up. Greens are still not what they were prior to C19, slow and minimal brake. Rough has been mowed, grounds keepers are making progress.

They can’t be serious with the condition this course is in. We booked it out of desperation to squeeze a round in this weekend. At $59 I figured it would at least be tended to... but I was dead wrong. Greens are AWFUL. Bumpy, fuzzy, and down right impossible to play. Take your two putt and move on. Fairways are so overgrown, they’re basically a rough at any average track. The “rough” is a jungle and a wrist-breaker. Seriously, do not waste your time and money.

The course conditions are pretty good, a few greens are patchy but most are good and roll faster than they look. The pace was good, we finished in just under 4 hours. The starter was a little rude. Overall, for $48 including cart, it's good value for what you get.

Bare soil visible on the fairways and putting greens are bumpy and slow. Could use a lot of attention.

US open rough greens were sponges and slow all the T boxes need to be mowed

I've played this course for years as it is close to my office.

The sand traps are hard sand filled with high grass.

The rough is so deep that if you don't hit the fairway, you have a 70% chance of losing your ball.

They have just lost a long time customer.

Fun short little course; however, the rough needs to be cutted a bit more; any ball lands there, for sure you won't be able to find it.

Great place to play ! My only issue with today's round was I purchased what I thought was a round with a single rider cart. When I arrived I found that it was walking only. Unfortunately I was only able to make it through 5 holes due to having bad knees. If you're a walking golfer it is a fantastic course to play at this time.

Your web site did not make it clear that it was walking ONLY.

I am 70 and cannot even complete 9 holes walking, You need to make this clearer to your patrons.

The fairways appeared to be hastily mowed but that was all they mowed. The rough was so thick that half the time we could not find our balls. And I’m saying just a few feet off the fairway. The greens were spongy and slow . I guess it will take some time time to get the course back in shape . All that being said it was still real nice to get out and hit some balls again.
