Westchester Golf Course

The course conditions need improving. Most greens were in great shape but several fairways and the rough were still damaged/muddy from all the rain. There was an enormous amount of poop on the course, so step with caution. As always, there was a backup on hole #2, but after hole #2 the pace of play was fine.

Had a 1 o’clock tee time on a weekday and it took 1 hour to do two holes. Went to the clubhouse to see if I could get a rain check, unfortunately wasn’t able to get one. The guy said it’s normal for the course to play that way. He was snarky during check in and when asking for the rain check as well. It’s too bad because my experience at the range was always pleasant.

Pros - booked online and course was in good condition.

Cons - we had a tee time for 1:52pm, but when we showed up to the course they had us at 2:52pm

You have to plan to be here for a while, they book the teetimes very tight and we ended up playing nine holes in 3 1/2 hours. I wouldn’t necessarily complain about this, I get it ….things happen, but this is the third time out of my last three times that I went that this happened.

Tee times are 8 minutes apart. For our 1204 tee time we didn't hit until 1230 and it took 3 hours from our original tee time to play 9. Plan on 5+ hour rounds in the noon on time frame. Good news is they have lights.... I would lily recommend this course to a friend if they couldn't get a tee time any where else.

Mostly par3, some par4 (short), 1 par5. But - was able to get on so why not. Pace was brutal, every hole that was a par3 was a wait. Marshall on course but the group in front of us took SOOOO long, we could watch them take 1-2 minutes hitting every shot on every hole. just painful. we quit after the one par5 - a very long day, hours msotly waiting.

Besides being over priced for virtually a par 3 course you’re risking getting hit ball a ball basically every hole. Gary the “ambassador” harassed us half the round because we stopped for a drink at the turn. We were apparently behind the pace of play when the group behind us was still not teeing off. Gary also use profanity when telling us to hurry up. One of the worst experiences of golf me and father have ever had. The two gentlemen we played with agreed and believe they made a complaint after the round. Staff after the round didn’t do anything about it after we told them about the ambassadors behavior.

I’ve played Westchester dozens of times because it is convenient and a good value. The course was in exceptional shape after rain 4 days prior and the weather was perfect. I had the best round of my life and shot a 71 with 3 birdies and 5 pars! I was in golf heaven! Life is good.😊

Fun, par ~3.5 course that’s well maintained. Greens are in great shape. Great course for beginner/intermediate golfers like myself looking for a good blend of long+short game.
