Rams Hill Golf Club

We have been playing Rams Hill, since it opened. It is open of the best courses in Southern California. It is worth the drive.

Rams is very well layed out and in excellent condition the elevation changes and use of natural desert is spectacular

Place is special and could become a nice little desert getaway with a few more courses and some nice options for stays

Course is beautifully designed and cared for with a staff that is attentive and food to die for. Greens rolled true and fast. Almost all fairways were looking good and pure for some good So Cal winter action

What you've read is true. This golf experience has the feel of a private club. Conditions are amazing. Green sizes varied in a good way... Long holes had greens 40 yards front to back with minimal break. Shorter holes had postage stamp sized greens with severe break. Thought the green complexes were challenging enough for scratch players but forgiving enough for a 20 handicapper like me.

Course routing and hole variety is great (except awkward back-to-back par 3s). Had a really nice post round lunch at the restaurant.

We got lucky with pace of play... Two of us finished in 3.5 hours... But tee times after ours seemed to be booked solid with foursomes.

Would recommend without hesitation. Worth the drive from San Diego, orange county, and Palm Springs. Give this course a chance... Guarantee you'll come back..

Bandan dunes of the south, we are doing a RV road trip across United States and a friend recommended Rams Hill highly as a place to play. All expectations were met with a spectacularly out. It helps though that on 14 I had an ace. Dinner and cocktails on the wonderful veranda restaurant completed a perfect day.

Great course and very accommodating! The views were as pictureress as it gets. Wonderful layout, very playable and well maintained course. Great staff, who offered continuous help and very friendly.

This course was one of the most memorable places that I have played throughout my life with plenty of views and unique holes. I would recomend this course to any lover of the game as it is an amazing course.

Played here today on spring break. This course is very pure and the layout is great but playable, highly recommend. Played Torrey pines south the day before and enjoyed this more. Great place to play and not a bad drive at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I brought my golf team from the East Coast and after 7 rounds in 6 days, this was the best. Worth the drive! Honestly, the staff is amazing, the conditions perfect, and truly a hidden gem. Best greens! I would come again and again.

What a fun day! Rams Hill is a true delight to play! Course was immaculately maintained. Tee boxes level and pristine. Fairways and rough cut perfectly. Greens very fast but true. Beautiful layout with great views of the mountains. A little pricy but worth the cost.

As usual, Rams Hill delivers the best golf experience in southern Ca. golf. Doubt you will find a better layout, better condition course anywhere for the $. The only course that's worth an almost 2 hour drive, because your never disappointed, from the time you arrive to when you have to leave.

Played on Very windy day. Drove from Palm Springs. Cool drive scenery!

Very few golfers given strong winds and cool temps. Was surprised no GPS in carts.

Excellent suger sand traps, green fairways, good greens.

However, at least a dozen courses in Palm Springs as good. Next time I would not pre pay and only do again under good weather conditions.

I always enjoy playing this golf course when I come to the Desert. Great views and conditions! The staff are super friendly and helpful. Check the weather though, as winds come up in afternoon and course could be tough for inexperienced golfer.

I found this course online and have read many positive reviews about it. My wife and I were in the Palm Springs area and decided to make the 1 1/2 trek out to the course. The trip out there was a bit concerning, As the highway is in good condition but the road we turned onto from the highway about 30 minutes prior to arriving the was pretty bumpy and broken up. It wasn’t long until we were back on fresh pavement, but now we’re we going through a state park that had many dune buggies and dirt bikes enjoying the rugged terrain. Once we made it to the course we were happy to see the high quality finishing of the clubhouse and practice area as well as the quality of the first hole. We played the golf course and kept marveling that such a wonderful golf course was in this interesting location. There are amazing views of the mountains and the way the course is desinged you feel that you are in a different place from where you have come from. The holes have lots of variety, elevation change and visual excitement. It is by far my favourite course I have ever played in the Palm Springs area. I can’t wait to make it back!

I kept hearing a bunch of hoopla about some course called Rams Hill. Seeing some great reviews on GK I told myself I need to play it and see what it's all about. One slight problem. The course is waaaaay out in the middle of nowhere. It's about halfway between San Diego and Palm Springs. Not a bad drive if you live in either of those places but a heck of a haul from Northern Califirnia. With so many great options at both locations, Rams Hill just never made the list on any of the So Cal golf trips.

And let me tell you it Was worth every minute of the drive!!

The course had everything that I like in a track: elevation changes, multiple water hazards, great playing conditions, and excellent customer service.

Per my intel this used to be two private courses that is now one "resort" style course. Greens were spacious that offered some fun challenges but gentle enough to give up a handful of birdies to the group (sadly none to me).

Fairways are wide enough that errant shots can usually be found in the first cut of rough which was thick but manageable.

The water hazards are off to the side with hole 11 having a river/stream flowing down the entire left side. It's probably my favorite hole on the course. There are no forced carries over any of the water hazards which takes a couple points off the design For me but not that big of a deal breaker.

The views are amazing and all in all the layout is awesome with a number of fun holes. Most holes are fairly straight with only a couple of severe dog leg holes.

There have been some recent articles about Rams Hill being the third best resort course behind Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. Whereas I can't say that I agree with that statement (there are just so many great courses in California) I can say that Rams Hill is Definitely, definitely worth the drive and a fun track.

I did have several issues with the website, but that may have been a compatibility issue with my iPad.

A long ride to get there. Once there it was well worth it. Course is beautiful, in excellent condition and very playable even though it was very windy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A magnificent golf course in the middle of nowhere. A course you would like to play every day.
