Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Oak Glen
About
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycan Resort) offers two 18-hole championship courses, Oak Glen and Willow Glen, as well as a 9-hole, par-3 course. The courses are tucked into a valley, surrounded by mountains and sloping hillsides that provide stunning backdrops on almost every hole. The Sweetwater River runs through the Oak Glen Course, coming into play on several holes including the memorable fifth hole, which is definitely a contender for one of the best par 4s in San Diego. This challenging hole requires an accurate drive across the river. The gently rolling terrain is sprinkled with mature trees. The layout features undulating greens and tight fairways. It is a challenging golf course but it is generally forgiving off of the tees, which makes it slightly less difficult than the hillier Willow Glen Course from Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan.

Late September Play
The greens are fabulously receptive and overall in great shape.
Tee to green also in nice shape. There are some noticeable dried out brown areas in the rough.
Watch out for that tree!
Difficult, but not kill you difficult. The trees can do a little bit of damage to your day.
Dried out and slow pace, took us 5 hours to finish
Greens were extremely slow but nice. Tee boxes were maintained with an exception of a few where there where bald spots and sloping. Fairways were dried out due to drought and extremely firm. Lots of brown grass. Really wish I could have seen this course in its prime.
The course was beautiful
There was a 4-some in front of us that was REALLY slow. I think that had at least 1 beginner. This is the only reason that I rated the course a little lower. It was in beautiful shape and we had fun except for the slow play.
Best Played in cooler months
Due to both the heat of the day and the season of the year the fairways had a number of bare spots. The greens are in very good shape and appeared to be watered regularly including during our round
The course layout is enjoyable and it is surrounded by beautiful mountain vistas and for either meals before or after the round the restaurant offers good food at a reasonable price
Dry in the rough...
Looks to be a course/facility in transition. They are obviously no longer watering anything off the fairway. We were told it will be converted to a desert course. This makes sense to save water in a area where they rely on diminishing wells. But it will make for a much more difficult course for those who cannot hit their fairways. Fairways are patchy, Greens were nice.
Immaculate Greens
Kudos to the Sycuan greens keepers for ALWAYS doing a fantastic job maintaining the greens and entire course. The pro shop and staff are always great and efficient. Great place to play.
Great course for the money
Hot Deal on Golf Now for only $34. Regular price $50, and weekends $75. Great great course for the price! Great bar, driving range, and great restaurant!
The oak trees that line the fairways will challenge your game
Think twice before reaching for that driver if you do not hit straight. The greens are very challenging the way the slopes and crowns and pin placements are.Great views of the mountains and scenery.Great getaway from the city.Golf carts are some of the best in town with color GPS.I will be back to play again. The food is great and the casino is only minutes away from the course.
Perfect Day
No one pressing you and no one holding you up. The management of the course was great. The weather could not have been better . The cart girl appeared like magic just when you felt the need for a treat. No better experience in San Diego
Great shape
Sycuan has always been one of my favorite courses to play in San Diego. It is always in great shape. Today it was in great shape once again. The only complaint, the greens were not as fast as usual.
We teed off around noon, earlier than our tee time. We finished a touch under 4 hours!
Look forward to playing again real soon. Let's get those greens faster
always in top condition
Played Oak Glen many times before as well as the willow
Sycuan is near five star status for around $40.00 on golf now.
some bunker sand was very hard maybe from sprinklers but the greens and fairways pristine.
As always please repair divots respect the course and fellow golfers
Course in great shape
The greens and fairways on Oak Glen were in great shape. The golf carts have leather seating and the GPS worked great. Pro Shop Attendee was a little short and did bare minimum to make sure it was a good experience. Starter was friendly. Cart girl only showed up once during the round and not until the back 9 with a 10:30 start time. Good value and course in much better shape than some other public courses in San Diego.
Perfect golf day!
Course and pace of play excellent. At times felt like we had the course to ourselves. Usually enjoy playing a round at Sycuan!
Absolute Beauty
We played this course on a Sunday. It was so fun and beautiful, we played it 2 more times in 5 days. The course was in great shape and the greens rolled true. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ate the restaurant once for lunch and the patio was very nice, service was great and the food was delicious as well as a fair price. Highly recommend this course.
Bruce
The course was in terrific shape, except for the reconstruction of the lake on hole #13
Good course
Played as a single on the front nine & moved along very fast. Caught up with twosome ahead of me and joined them. Back nine very slow for everyone. Had a very good time on a good course.
Oak
Played the Blues (6594/71.8/127) as a 3some with Eric & 140ver in slightly more than 4H using Forelinx. The weather was clear, calm and in the mid 70's, very nice! Thanks Mike G. for a fun round! A common theme on this tree lined layout is penalty stoke hazard and trees left and trees right on hole after hole. Most of the holes are relatively straight. The layout is tight in places with a few elevation changes and enough water and red staked ravine hazards to keep you honest. The tees were fairly lush and in good shape overall with few unrepaired divots. Most of the over seeded fairways are lush and well maintained with few divots. A couple were more winter thin. The rough is winter thin, with some lush areas to go along with hardpan and wood chips mixed in under and around the hundreds of trees that line the fairways. The sand traps were hard packed with fine sand. However, they are too thin in many spots. The greens putted medium fast and were mostly smooth. They putted nice and held approach shots very well. However, a few had hydraulic leak damage and a couple had some bare spots around the edges. They recently resodded all the fringes with dormant Bermuda that is now becoming nice to play off of and is a huge improvement. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart around numerous times. A negative here is that they did not renew their GPS contract, so you no longer get yardages on the GPS on the carts. Solid but unspectacular layout containing 18 good golf holes in better than average condition. Recommended = Yes.
OK
Good value for the money. Course was green and lush which is sometimes hard to find in these times of drought.
They have cut back on some things (GPS in carts not operating) but all-in-all good.
