Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Willow Glen
About
Willow Glen is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycuan Resort), which also boasts a 9-hole, par-3 course. Nestled in a valley between lush hillsides, the golf courses all offer stunning mountain views. The mountains also help to block the wind, which allows for more agreeable playing conditions. Willow Glen is slightly more challenging than the other championship course due to a hillier terrain and more fairways that are tightly lined with mature pines, oaks, and cottonwoods. The trees shape the landing zones and add definition to the doglegs. Proper placement off the tees is necessary for doing well on this course. Contoured mounding borders the greensides as well as more than 40 bunkers. Water also comes into play on six holes. The 11th through the 15th holes are an impressive stretch that presents a variety of challenges as well as unrivaled scenery.

Fun for all levels of play
We played the Willows Course, there are three courses available.
The course condition was pretty good for playing in December, could have used a hair cut but you always had a decent lie.
Great views and nice layout. A very fair and fun course that we will definitely play again.
Brutal
I saw the $89 rate and thought it was a steal.
The round took over 5 hours, the course is in baaad shape. Greens at like carpet, rest of the course is barren.
Marshals never moved anyone along- or spoke to anyone in general, when you play early on a Saturday, you don't want that.
I told my buddie it was a first and last time for me.
No thanks.
PLAY AGAIN
THERE WERE SOME DRY BURN SPOTS ON YHE EDGES OF THE GREEN ON SOME HOLES.
THE FAIR WAY WAS BETTER THAN THE USUAL DRY CALIFORNIA FAIR WAY THAT WE GET THIS TIME OF THE SESAOM
Hot Day in El Cajon
Was a very hot day to play. About 105 with a bunch of humidity. Greens were soft and you could throw darts at them. Fairways were in ok shape as it is summer time. Being from Arizona im used to summer golf conditions, but didnt expect that in Cali. 60 dollars for the round was a little pricey for the conditions they have. Fun course to play though, I will say that. Got through my round in about 3 hours which was nice.
Birdie opportunities in a lot of holes!
I joined 3 other individuals and teed off around 1130sh. A slight southerly wind was blowing. Hot and sunny we were behind a slow group which was evident in the first few holes but it was ok afterwards. The ground was very dry and hard on several places. The greens were in ok condition. The fairways a little dusty at some areas. Keep the ball straight and you will have a lot of fun. Walkable but I prefer riding. Keep away from the trees or get ready to card a bogie or worst. A couple picturesque holes so keep the camera nearby.
Sycuan Willow Glen Redux
Been 25 yrs since I played this course. Was just as I remembered...tough little track. Course was in decent condition for July. Pace of play was OK until we caught the three some in front of us. Took 5 holes before they let us play through. Cart started to die half way through...called three times before someone came out with a replacement cart.
Still...had a nice time.
good layout
willow glen is a good layout, wind and trees play into this course. good bunker condition, sand on the par 3's are deep and soft. greens are sponging but quick and true. willow is a good test of golf. I always enjoy playing there.
Lots of Grass
The main thing I like about playing this golf course is that the owners water the course the way that a golf course should be watered. The main reason that I come to play out here is because I can always count on the greens being receptive and the Fairways being lush. Unlike other courses in San Diego, it is well manicured. Highly recommend!
PERFECT DAY
COURSE WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION,WITH A EASY GOING PACE OF PLAY. SEVENTY FIVE DEGREES WITH A SLIGHT BREEZE. GOOD GOLF WITH GOOD PEOPLE!
Willow glen
Despite the punching of the greens that was not indicated on the site, the course is in great shap. Fairways are clean and the tee boxes are in decent shape.
I really enjoy Sycuan, and looking forward to more rounds there.
excellent place to play, It look like PGA course.
excellent place to play, It look like PGA course..
I want to play the golf again.
The course is a little bit difficult but fun.
OK Course, Nice Greens, Poor Pace of Play
Many of the SD-area casinos have spent significantly on their golf courses (Pechanga, Barona). Can't say this is the case for Sycuan and the Oak/Willow courses. Infrastructure (other than carts and greens which are very good) and amenities are dated and or poorly maintained. Scheduled to play Oak Glen, but starter said we could play Willow and that it was open (less players) and a more "scenic/better" course. Our two was paired with a single so playing as a threesome. By hole two, we caught the foursome in front of us and from there on it was miserably slow. No marshaling and a 5-plus hour round. Many people not raking traps, fixing ball marks and certainly not playing "ready" golf. Great greens, but the slow pace ruined what could have made for a nice day.
Great Course, Poor Pace of Play
There was a marshal on the course but did nothing to help speed up play. I was part of a two some, there was a two some in front of us, then 3 foursomes that were painfully slow. After breezing through the first three holes, we caught up to the log jam. On every par three the the two groups in front of us were waiting to hit when we arrived at the tee box. Total round was just under 5 hours. on a slow drizzly day.
