9th hole on Canyon. One of the most picturesque holes on the course. Tough hole that plays into the wind. Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017

Great value
With drought conditions & water reduction the course looks in great shape. There is value in playing twilight rates that offers the views and the various challenges from hole to hole. It is worth taking off work early and enjoying a round.
Pace of play
The course was beautiful and the greens are fast however pace of play is a major issue problem, there was no Marshall on the course, I requested Ranger from the cart, no one came out. I spoke with the beverage cart girl, who said she would notify the office but no one came out to address the problem.
Very nice layout, challenging, lots of elevation changes
I played with another single, they allowed each of us to have our own cart as the course was not very busy on this date.
I have played this course many times in the past and it is still a very nice course. The only drawbacks were the fact that we are having a drought in CA, the edges of the course are much drier and its brown in many places. The greens are large and difficult to read. They were aerated a month ago, but still show some signs of that maintenance as there are a few dead spots on the green. The locals claim the greenskeeper says there is to much sodium in the water. my belief is they used sand that was not clean.
Over all, still a good play, I will not hesitate to return here if and when the prices is right.
Didn't know play the canyon course twice
We didn't know the price is play canyon twice, also we had go to other side mountain course for reporting the Marshall, I don't know why they arrange like that. We enjoyed the pace and excellent condition is tee box, fairway, and green
Great place to play
Nice course to play, very challenging for the average golfer. It drains well in rain also. The staff is very good and real friendly.
Good day of golf
Played Cinnabar Hills Mountain and Canyon courses this day. Greens were punched about 2 months ago and greens were fairly good. Rolled slow at first but got faster as the day went along. Liked the Mountain course but not much a fan of the Canyon. This course reminds me of Poppy Ridge and San Juan Oaks in that it has the same type of terrain but more trees.
If you want a good challenge of golf, this place will give you one but beware of pace of play. It can get slow due to the hazards right off the fairways and people looking way too long for their balls, and lack of use of the always handy provisional ball!!!
Can get really windy in the afternoons so get out early before the slow pokes start ahead of you!!
awesome
Beautiful course, awesome views and great deal. Will definitely be back!
A good day on Mountain/Lake
Course conditions were good despite the drought. Pace of play was excellent, never had to wait to tee up. Speed control on greens were challenging some faster than others. Can't beat the great rate on GN.
Great course to sharpen your skills
Cinnabar, one of my favorite courses in the South Bay. The course is challenging but fair. This course is typically in really great shape with fast and true rolling greens. I wished Cinnabar would of let Golfnow know that the greens have not completely healed yet. I would definitely go back in a few more weeks after the greens heal completely.
beautiful scenery
The reason for a "poor" rating on course conditions - It was not indicated that the course had just been aerated when booking my tee time, so we were a bit disappointed by that. The fryer wasn't working so we were not able to order some of the items we would have enjoyed. I have played this course many times & have always enjoyed it.
Excellent conditions and the staff was friendly
The staff was awsome. They were very accommodating. The pace of play was out standing
great layout
The course was playing perfect, greens and fairways matched!
Good value great greens
Greens and fairways were excellent. Too bad the practice greens were punched.
Very Fine Course
Course has some majestic views. One of the most finest courses I played in California.
Go Play...Take Your Camera and Your A Game...
It's a challenging, beautiful gem worthy of the visit, or like a Lays potato chip, you just gotta have more. Go early, the clubhouse is packed full of golf memorabilia. I listed this as somewhat challenging, but some of the greens will give you nightmares if you don't watch your step. The course is surrounded by beautiful vistas (green California rolling hills),. There's a beautiful view everywhere you look, but you better keep your mind on the task at hand, or like a snake, the course will jump up and bite you. Plenty of elevation changes and the greens are well protected by well placed bunkers. Better have your A game working or your score will balloon. This place was so scenic I didn't know whether to play golf, or take photos (I did both), think it was only the second time I used my camera on my iphone. Long story short, go, you'll be glad you did! I know I'll return if given the opportunity, wouldn't miss it, nor should you!!
Love Cinnabar Hills
We played Sunday at 1:00p tee time. Had such a great afternoon... did not wait AT ALL, ALL DAY on a single shot ... this is how golf should be played!!! The course is in great condition. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that the tee boxes were all freshly punched... so getting the tee in tight was a little challenging, but pace of play more than made up for it! We will be back VERY soon!
Great course at a reasonable price
Picked this course online and was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful layout in rolling hills, with challenging holes that weren't forced or too tricky. Played in less than 4 and a half hours, course condition was good and staff was very friendly.
I will go back the next time I'm in the South Bay area.
Always a joy to play here!
This course over the years has been a hidden gem in the back roads of San Jose. It has also been trimmed and cut here and there to make it much more miss hit friendly. Each nine has its own personality and is such named: Lake, Canyon & Mountain. All equally fun and challenging. This course offers well manicured fairways and smooth fast greens!
