Course Highlights
Crescent Pointe's staff consistently earns high praise for their warmth and genuine commitment to making every round memorable. The challenging layout featuring marsh hazards and fast, true-rolling greens delivers strong value in the Bluffton area.

Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Fun round and great value

This is a great course. It’s a bit dry now, so the greens seem to be growing in a bit. They were a bit bouncy when putting. I’ll be back later in the season to see if they get grow in and get trimmed to what I normally experience here.

Not in great shape

We had a nice day on the course, and really enjoyed the layout, but the course was in rough shape.

Nice layout

But in awful shape! Not even worth the favorable pricing. It was like hitting off of cement and putting across weeds

Nice layout, but in need of maintenance

Greens were weedy, fairways like hardpan, with not much grass, and tees chopped up and sandy. course has the potential to be VERY nice, but not until some $$$ are spent to improve the basics.

Good value, Enjoyed Round

Played peak weekend on Hilton Head, so I played off-Island and comparables saved over $100 on GN; well worth it. Good track, scenic marsh course, not too close to much housing, plenty of wildlife. Saw Alligator, wild turkey, osprey, more. Multiple tee boxes let you pick off how much challenge of Arnie’s design you want. There’s A LOT of water, pick the right Tee box.

Nice Greens

Pace of play could be a little better. Nice course layout …. Ladies tee off blocks need to be cut. Played here before and once again the brakes were not working on the golf cart so it had to be carefully parked to ensure it didn’t roll anywhere.

The golf cart was also not very clean with dirt on the dash of the cart and seat. Will play here again.

Improving!

I had forgotten how hard this course is. From the blues, it is a 141... and it plays every bit of that and more. I had also forgotten how scenic it is. High marks with marsh views on several holes.

They have put good money into sand trap renovations and re-contouring of greens and tee boxes. That helps.

It still needs some investment though. While markedly improved from the past, greens, fairways and tee boxes are thirsting for care. Leaf blowing of all things is much needed.

All in all in was an enjoyable day on a course with some high potential. I hope it continues to improve.

Beautiful course but not in great shape.

The course design is terrific but it was not in great shape which I suspect is due to the time of the season (mid March) and lack of over-seeding for the winter. Greens seemed to be dormant but dyed green to look better. Ball often would not stop on small slopes and roll out 5 to 10' past the hole because the grass was matted down. Having said that I would definitely play this course again, it seems that I find all Arnold Palmer courses great fun to play.

Help Maintenance

The course is beginning to recover from previous management. They are working hard to improve the overall shape of the course. Suggestion: The maintenance crew needs assistance. Place collection trays at each tee box in order for players to place their used tees. It will help clean up the tee boxes. Also helps the maintenance crew in reducing their work and protects the mowers.
