Crescent Pointe Golf Club

About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

great layout
The course has a beautiful layout with challenging doglegs and a lot of water. The course is a bit rough around the edges compared to the other course on the island. The greens were fair to good. Fairways were good. Bunkers good. Excellent value for the money compared to the prices on the island now.
Run down “old gray mare”
Save your money play golf from Maine to Florida top10 worst course greens are missing grass bunkers lack sand not raked or cleaned cart paths ouch my back Stay away better courses in the area
Arnold Palmer must be very disappointed
The staff readily informs you that this is 1 of 7 Arnold Palmer designed course in the country. For such a prestigious origin, this course is in poor condition. The t-boxes have dirt and several types of grass. The fairways are similar, you may want to improve your lie. The bunkers are rock hard, with a very thin film of sand.
Great Arnie Palmer Course
This is a great value for the money and worth driving to Bluffton considering how expensive it is to play most courses in season on Hilton Head. Plenty of dog legs and narrow fairways that make you play smart and the greens are fast and most are unforgiving. The scenery is beautiful (including the gators). I would highly recommend playing here but don’t think too highly of your game and play from the longer tees because it will humble you…unless you want to pad your handicap for the summer😂
Very Challenging course, the conditions are not perfect, but very playable
Challenging course
Will be back again next year. Good value. Good challenge. Good course condition.
Great course
Highly recommend this course if you are in the area. Some greens are growing back right now but overall, for this time of the year the whole course looks great. Always a fun time and pretty challenging depending on your shot shape. If you hit everything straight you will be just fine. Always enjoy myself here and will continue to go back no matter the time of year.
RUSHED - NOT WORTH THE PRICE
I've played many golf courses on and off Hilton Head Island over the past 20 years, but this was the first time playing Crescent Pointe and definitely the LAST. From Hole 2-9, we were harassed by the ranger, who kept insisting that we needed to pick up the pace. This was despite us letting a twosome play through our foursome and not once holding anyone up. We finished in 4:10, with the group behind us being two holes behind. When we got to the clubhouse at the end of the round, we were rushed out of our carts, presumably because they didn't have enough for the people waiting to play. The greens were burned out on multiple holes. DEFINITELY not worth the price. There are so many other courses in the area I would recommend if you want a stress-free round of golf without being harassed.
Great value for price
Never played before. I was down last fall and played Eagle point. It was a great layout, but the agronomy was terrible. I talked to pro there and he said that a group was taking over maintenance for both courses. At that time they had just taken over. I have degree in horticulture and could see what problems they were addressing on crescent pointe. I think in three months it will really make it a great course to play. I come down from MN twice a year, spring & fall. I'm going to play Eagle pointe before l leave and will probably see a different course from last fall. Apart from the course the staff treats customers like my private course in MN.
Decent price/value
Similar value proposition vs Eagles Pointe, but better layoit to start with. Low price point as reflected by the grounds keeping which could use some investment, namely teh bunkers and some of the greens.
Great layout with lots of water
Enjoyed the layout, it had lots of water on almost every hole. The staff were very friendly and helpful information for playing it the first time.
A course with potential
Crescent is a pretty course that weaves through a residential development. Good variety of holes but the fairways are very thin and greens are already showing some rough patches. With a little bit of money this course could be special. The cart paths are horrible and when we arrived they informed us the GPS “may or may not work” yet we were still charged the full amount. If I found a discount rate I’d play it again.
Nice course with plenty of Water
Course is in good shape, friendly staff to greet you, GPS on the carts weren’t working that day.
Nice course, water on almost all holes. Bunkers need to be topped up with sand.
Betting you don't play a lot of golf then champ!
