Crescent Pointe Golf Club
About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Excellent Time
Played course for the first time. Arnold Palmer Signature course. Well maintained. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was good made it around in 4:15. Living in another resort time, that is actually an excellent time. Especially playing with a beginner golfer. But we play quickly. Greens were smooth and quick. Tees and fairways are in good shape. We had a great time. Had lunch before our round. All staff was great. From bag drop to pro shop to bar. Did not see a beverage cart all day even though the it was in the high 70’s to low 80’s.
Like all Arnold Palmer courses has hazards strategically placed. From bunkers off the tee and greens to ponds and creeks on approach shots. Actually play two 5 irons on par 5’s because of narrow driving areas and water in front of green. I am not long enough any more to hit par 5’a in two. So played clubs to keep me in play and still allow me to hit wedge for 3rd shot.
Love the course layout and conditions.
Definitely would play it again.
Nice layout with questionable course conditions
Great layout but there were quite a few holes that lacked any grass. Greens were very inconsistent. But overall was an enjoyable round of golf for the price
Thumbs up
I played with another single who was a great older man. We didn’t get to play the back 9 because it was backed up on the 10 hole. So we played the front again.
Love the course layout
Great staff and course!! Pace of play was slow but that is the golfer not the golf course. One of our father we visit HHI
Winter conditions dictate the course conditions, so greens and fairways are a little rough. Nice layout and teamed up with some great people!!
Nice layout
Really enjoyed golfing at Crescent Pointe.
The front nine seems more difficult than the back nine.
Greens are groomed nicely and the fairways are coming along.
We encountered some male turkeys on one hole that were not friendly and actually chased us on our golf cart. That was our laugh of the day!
terrible shape
I signed up as a single. was supposed to play with a twosome at 12:04 I went to the driving range which they charge you for balls and then I went to the first tea at my time and the starter had already sent off the twosome plus the group after the twosome and I got stuck behind all of them playing as a single. It took more than 4 1/2 hours to play who is painful and the course is in terrible shape. I don’t know where they put all that money. The greens have weeds growing in them. There are no fairways.
Good Course for late winter.
Great staff, very good layout. Greens are challenging, only issue with the greens is many are having weed intrusion making for bouncing rolls. Fairways are just now starting to green up.
Great course but not in great condition.
Greens are slow and have lots of weeds especially on the front nine. Barely any grass to hit off of in the fairways. Very dry. Layout and views are great. Tough course. A different course completely when it is in good condition. Needs spring to come fast along with some rain.
Crescent Point-Big potentiel
Great layout, greens so so. Lots of polenta. A few tee boxes were pretty rough. Staff was great. We played it mi-February and the greens were in better shape.
Crescent point
The lay out is great. Greens and tee boxes need improvement. Green have lots of poana. Staff was courteous.
