Crescent Pointe Golf Club
About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Affordable Course
I enjoyed the course very much and rebooked it for next week!
Enjoyable day
Exceeded expectations. A few greens under repair. For our level it was challenging but not overly callenging.
Great/friendly staff and really cool layout
My son (scratch) and I (7.1) played and loved the course layout. Lots of interesting holes and hazards. Both golf shop and restaurant/bar stall were really friendly - golf shop manager came to see us at the turn to see how we were enjoying the course. There are some slightly scruffy areas of the course and the cart paths are a little bumpy but for $57 including cart we weren’t expecting Augusta!. 4 groups waved us through and we finished in under 3 hours.
Fantastic Value for the Money
Paid $57 for a hot deal on a Saturday morning, which considering it was perfect weather is unbelievable. Fun course to play, conditions were above average. Loved the layout of the course and the strategy of some of the holes. Only complaint was some of the pin positions were a little silly. Would 10/10 recommend this place since most of the other courses I saw were $100+.
Good Layout/Gone Downhill
Once upon a time this was a very good layout. Over time the course has deteriorated. The cart paths are bad, the fairways are OK but the areas off the fairways are weedy and there is considerable erosion. It is a target golf course and the price to play reflects its in need of a major facelift.
Great course with lots of elevation changes for a near coastal location
lots of elevation changes for course with some tidal wetlands included. Arnold has done a great job sculpting this layout for a visually interesting course. Some forced carry holes with wetlands in the way.
A course we always include in trips to Hilton Head area.
Great Layout, Mediocre Condition
Having been told by a relative that I should really see about playing this Arnold Palmer designed course while in HHI area, I made it a point to do so. Getting the "Hot Deal" to play/ride for about $55 made it all the more attractive. While the layout was great, and most holes were in reasonably good shape, a number of the fairways has substantial ground under repair, and several greens were being patched up, too. Traps were largely wet-pack sand, not the customary fluffy white sand seen elsewhere locally. Service at the grill was very slow, and we had to let two other foursomes play through before getting our hot dogs and chips served.
always enjoy this course
Arnold did a great job laying out this course plenty of challenges offered.
Great Value
Staff members were outstanding, friendly, knowledgeable. Great value in Hilton Head. Interesting course layout, Never boring. Course condition was a B or B+. Great value, particularly after 2 pm.
Great staff, especially at bag drop. Challenging layout. Fast greens.
At this price will play again.
First time in a long time
Played here years ago . Reviews were not good for a few years, but started seeing some good reviews mixed in with others. The course is in pretty good shape. They have been doing some good things. If you are in town and want to play golf, I highly recommend playing here. This is the best deal on the island.
Good condition even after Helene came through
Golf course was a good value less expensive then staying on the island.
Course was in great condition even after experiencing hurricane like winds the week before.
Carts have GPS, enough water to make you think about your shots.
My one complaint would be as a foursome we had several two somes as well as two singles come up behind us which we allowed to play through. Not sure why the starter allowed this it did add time to our round of almost 5 1/2 hours
Crescent Point review
Second time playing. First was two years ago.
Great layout. Arnie did a great job designing this course.
Plenty of challenges with many holes protected by water and substantial sand traps. Greens fast and in great shape…only one had mild issues. Staff was great from clubhouse to starter and cart employees. Will definitely come back.
Beautiful course in great condition. Great value for the money.
