Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Great improvements

I have been a member of The Crescent for 11 years. It was not until Metro Golf bought the course did significant changes begin. They are totally committed to making the Arnold Palmer Signature course top tier. The layout has always been second to none and now the conditions are getting better by the day. If you are visiting or live in the Bluffton area, play a round. You won’t be disappointed!

Great challenging layout

I have played The Crescent over the years but I found prior owners did not have the commitment to run a quality operation! Now new ownership have turned the corner for the course. The course has always been a chalange due to its layout and the Arnold Palmer design and specifications. However now they have the resources to make it happen. Having played the course several times over the last couple of months I have been very impressed. The course has been upgraded to be challenging and maintained in a very professional way. Play the course you won’t be disappointed.

Put this on your list!

I’m a zero handicap and played from the Palmer tees today. What an absolutely beautiful course layout with trouble if you can’t keep it in the middle.

The fairways are generously wide in the landing zones and the greens were true and rolled perfectly.

#9 is a par 3 that has an elevated tee box and has you shoot back into a peninsula green surround def by traps and the marsh…photo below- this might be the prettiest hole I’ve ever played.

The staff was very nice and the porch overlooking 18 is a gem to have a cocktail and share your stories of your favorite hole.

Repairs are underway on the cart path and some of the sprinklers, but overall these were few and far between.

Thank you to the course for a far more valuable experience in relation to my green fees for the day. I’ll be back!

The course is very challenging. Many shots over water or hazards. It's a shot makers course yet it's fun to play especially the second time around. The greens were in excellent condition. My only disappointment was that some parts of the fairways were a little thin on grass. Could be just the time of the year. Overall, a challenging and fun course to play.

Fun Layout

Course has some memorable holes, several with approaches over water including #1. #9 is a brutal par 3, with a long approach over marsh to a small, elevated green. It was generally in very good shape, and the pace was great for a 10am tee off. We were a threesome and rarely waited for the group in front. A very good bargain!
