Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Beautiful Layout but Poorly Maintained

True to Arnold Palmer designs worldwide. Unfortunately, playing conditions were poor - tee boxes, sand traps, fairways & greens were inconsistent - lots of bare spots in fairways, spotty repair areas on back 9 greens and unkept tee boxes. Cart paths throughout are in need of repair - several breaks in the concrete are downright dangerous.

Excellent layout

This course is a beautiful track. Very scenic. Played the middle tees which made for a good time. As the course greens up this spring it will be a must play

If you are going there for the first time, take the time to check out your shots as there are some hidden hazards. Greens pretty good, fairways in general OK. Couple of holes that are a bit of a puzzle especially number 9.

Nice layout. Poor conditions

Good layout but course conditions were overall poor. Tee boxes had no or limited grass...dirt or sand. Fairways on front 9 were worst I've played in HH area. Greens, except 2, were pretty good. Needs soon TLC, over seed and fertilizer on fairways. I'd love to see this course if time and money spent to get in above average condition. Too bad it's neglected.

Needs some work

Wonderful layout, but needs attention. Most tee boxes are terrible. Greens are in decent shape. Fairways are above average. The staff is very friendly. Because of the overall conditions and low price to play, it appeared a lot of beginners were playing, which accounted for slow play.

Great course

Great course, not perfect but really nice. Some poor parts of the cart path, couple iffy tee boxes, but very minor in my opinion. Doesn’t detract from the beauty of it. Fantastic value, well worth it

Other than the greens it was terrible

Tees and Fairways were pretty much dirt/sand. I have played this course many times over the years and it has gone way downhill. It used to be one of the nicer courses in the Hilton Head area. Probably won’t be back.

Concerned

I have played this course from the opening year and have enjoyed the layout, but it has consistently been in a downward spiral the last few years. I hope it can be restored back to its original condition.

Fun course

The layout is fun and challenging. The course does have a few quirky holes, but I think that’s what makes it fun to play .

Wonderful Trek

Played as a single in the early morning. Ended up being paired with 3 amazing people; Doug, Jon & Paul. Could not have been luckier. They were nervous what I’d think of the course since new owners took it over last season. You can tell the work they’ve put it! Some of the greens were a tad hard from new sodding this year & 2 of the fairways had some light spots, but it was a heck of a course for the price and the semi-private-ness. Would recommend.

Crescent Pointe

I hit most fairways and ended up on dirt. Many tee boxes were trash. The cart paths were in a terrible condition, maybe the worst I’ve ever seen. You may need a chiropractor appointment after driving the cart path. I paid $55 online. I would not recommend. I will try next year and see if they have made any improvements.
