Course Highlights
Crescent Pointe's staff consistently earns high praise for their warmth and genuine commitment to making every round memorable. The challenging layout featuring marsh hazards and fast, true-rolling greens delivers strong value in the Bluffton area.

Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Making improvements

Two years ago you couldn’t have paid me to play the Crescent, it was in really bad shape. I’m giving a good rating for condition because there has then considerable improvement. Has a way to go before it reaches Hilton head, national golf club conditions, but it’s much better than any of the other public golf courses in Bluffton

What a difference a year makes!

We played this course last year and had misgivings about playing it again until we read the reviews. The course has been upgraded and GPS on the carts. Greens and fairways were in great condition with lots of challenges on the many water holes. Staff were very pleasant and we had a wonderful round.

Nice course for the money

We enjoyed playing this course. It had a few maintenance issues but for the most part it was in good shape. I would definitely play it again.

Great course

The course was in great shape other than a few cart paths. There is a ton of water thru out the course. The grass around the fairways are tall and you will lose balls if you roll thru the fairway to the outer cut. The course is very challenging. I couldn’t reach the par 4’s in two shots from the white tee. Overall nice course to play , not super crowded and beautiful scenery. Great staff!

Good value

Course was on decent condition. Nice mix of challenging holes and open fairways. It was freshly mowed after several days of rain They were also using a fertilizer on the fairways which appeared as round white foam which made it harder to identify my ball. An inconvenience but not an every day problem. I will be sure to play it again.

Coming together

All has improved on this course since I first played it 6 months ago. They are putting the money where it needs to go, greens, greenside, Fairways and tees. It is a little rough around the edges, so, keep it in the fairway and don't miss the greens by too much.
