Course Highlights
Crescent Pointe's staff consistently earns high praise for their warmth and genuine commitment to making every round memorable. The challenging layout featuring marsh hazards and fast, true-rolling greens delivers strong value in the Bluffton area.

Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Getting there

Most of the greens are slow but in good shape. 3/4 greens have bald patches on them.

Tee boxes are much improved. Bunkers are decent. Fairways are better than they were but still lag behind most of the courses in the lowcountry.

You can see they are trying but still have a way to go. Still one if the best layouts in the lowcountry.

Wifi was not working. Cash only, No credit card.

6/10 for me.

Don't Miss Playing Here

Took a chance playing this course based on a recent review and I am so glad I did. This course is vastly underated. Talk to staff and found out this course was brought under new management/owners in May 2023. This course has a lot of character and is challenging. You do not have the boring back and forth, this course is routed throiugh the marsh and has a mix of pretty tough holes as well as holes you should par/birdie if you execute the shots.

Majority of the greens were in very good shape and some pace to them. There were probably 4 greens in total that are still on the road to recovery but still in acceptable shape and putted just fine with tha same speed as the other greens.

I play a lot of golf around the country and this course was fun, challenging and the best value you will find in the area. This is the type of course you need to play a few times to get conmfortable with lines off the tee, so take a few extra balls. This course wll be a regular stop for me.

Great layout! #2 & #9 top par 3 holes!

We played with a member and got the rundown on how the course has been recovering from a previous poor owner. It’s in decent shape though! I really enjoyed the challenging layout, the toughest I’ve played on the Island from the back tees. Give the new owner and superintendent another 6-12 months and I think the course will be in tip top shape again. #2 and #9 are two really tough par 3’s! We’ll be back!

Solid

Tough course, a GPS on the cart would be nice or better scorecard to show the layout better. Otherwise I enjoyed playing it, the scenery, and the price for an Arnold Palmer course.

Beautiful Course Layout

Believe this course is now under new ownership. Will definitely add this course to our golf lineup for each vacation visit to the Hilton Head area. Two or three greens were receiving a little love but that can be the expectation this time of the year when the heat index is constant. The course itself is a beautiful layout and will challenge you to play every club in your bag. Actually believe the guy behind the cash register this particular day could’ve been the owner. He offered us a better price than GolfNow and we had some quick conversation regards landscaping. The cart return attendant encouraged us to drive our bags out to our car. Not exactly the same experience the day before at a different course regards the cart return. Had a gr8t outing here!

Great layout

Great layout had a couple greens that were struggling but looked like they were coming around. Didn’t affect play and the rest of the course was in good shape. Fun layout and friendly staff. Pace was bad on the back as they started a. Shotgun scramble while we were on 11. At 10 am on a Tuesday… other than that it was all good

Great Golf Course when at HHI.

The course was in good condition and hole layout suited my game! Lots of water and sand but easy to navigate. Fairways were nice and the greens putted true.

Great course for the money! Save yourself some money and play here!

It’s fine…

Course was fine. First out so pace of play was great. Some of the greens are beat up. Cart paths are atrocious - feels like your teeth are going to rattle out of your head driving.

I liked it

For the money around HH it’s hard to beat. It’s not a wide open course and I didn’t need the driver. The greens weren’t great. All in all it was a fun round.
