About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Checking area courses
Arrived and a pleasant attendant took my clubs and put them on my cart. People in Pro Shop were very nice. Hit some balls at driving range. Nearly no turf on driving range, mostly dirt. Course condition was poor. I have been playing golf over 50 years and have played all over the world and the condition was one of the poorest I have ever experienced. Nice bar with cold beverages and nice server.

Missed Opportunity.
One of the best layouts in SC. So, raised prices (over 40 % in 3 years - out did inflation), practice green was a mess, regular greens were't much better. Speed of play was good (as very few were on the course). Nice people working there. Condition of the course was very questionable for the price. It is a great Palmer course, best par 3 off island(#2). Please get this course back in shape.

Played this course in the past. Always liked the layout. This time i was not impressed. Slow play. # 15 green was all mud. Fairways were patchy at best. Arnold would not be happy.

Enjoyable
Course not busy went out as a twosome. Nice practice area. This time of year dormant grass but needs attention in spots...in the rough, sand, roots, leaves. We always like coming here while vacationing and intend to come back!

Great layout, greens in good shape, a few t boxes need TLC
I played this course on a trip to Hilton head where it was one of the more affordable options in the area. First teatime of the day, I found the staff to be super friendly and accommodating. The course itself had a few challenging par 3s and a few tee shots that commanded a draw or a fade. Overall, I would play this course again they were a few tea boxes that needed some help.

Course conditions are getting better, especially the cart paths. Greens were fair, better than last time I played course.

Great layout
Tee boxes were not in very good shape. Approximately 30% of the greens were in need of improvement. Loved the layout.

Disappointing
Very solid layout but the course was in very poor conditions. Greens were painfully slow and bare spots throughout the course. Will not return.

Good course. Slow play on the front nine. A little better on the back. Most tee boxes need work. But, would still recommend the course.

It is clear this course has failed to keep up with routine maintenance - everything from their computerized check in process, the condition of their golf carts, to the horrible cart path conditions on the back nine

Course conditions
Tee boxes had sparse grass coverage. Greens were diseased and slow. Cart paths under repair but nothing being done on them. Course definitely not what it was five years ago.
