Nice course
Good course and great pace of play. Enjoyed it very much. Definitely go back.
Hidden Gem
The layout is nice. Some fairways get a little tight and you do have to shape shots.. It’s an older course. Fairways and greens are nicely manicured. Greens are great, semi firm, will hold shots but are pretty quick.
Great course for an average hacker like me.
Great setup at this course. They were able to get us on the course ahead of our tee time which worked out well for us. Layout is fairly forgiving - except for a few trees we managed to hit. Fairway turf was good and greens rolled at a medium speed that I loved that day. Can't remember a round where I made so many long putts that really saved my score from being too bad. Will come back next time I'm in the Destin area.
Good course and lots of doglegs.
Course was good and fair considering the dry conditions this year. I had to call the pro shop
to get the restroom code off the 14th hole. Would have been nice to know ahead of time.
Great experience
Played the tips. Loved the layout and course was in wonderful shape. The greens were lightning fast but could read like a book. Staff was ready to help in anyway possible. Play this course if you have a chance ,you will enjoy!!!!!
Great Course!
First time playing and loved the friendly staff, nice clubhouse and practice greens/range. Course is a tight layout that forces shots to be on line and greens roll very true! Absolutely would play again
Underrated Gem In The Destin Area
We played 2 courses in the Destin, FL area. The Links at Sandestin ($127) and Indian Bayou ($172). I would pay the extra $45 and play Indian Bayou. Indian Bayou is manicured and beautiful. Most of the holes were tree-lined with large pines, which have all the branches removed up to 20-30 feet. The fairway grass/rough comes right up to the cart paths. No brown areas at all – just perfect. You rarely see this. The staff brought a cart to your car once you arrived.
The greens were a thinner blade of Bermuda grass which putted much better than the Links at Sandestin. It was more like putting on bent grass back in the Midwest.
Most of the holes allow you to run the ball up on the green. I could only think of one hole with a forced carry over a bunker to get to the green.
If I had any negatives about the course, they have some small, quirky greens. Having course knowledge would be helpful on these holes. We played the white/red combo (5,500 yards) and the course plays like target golf. It takes the driver out of your hand, especially on the back nine. I thought the front nine was the better nine. Holes 14 & 16 are a bit quirky.
The courses used to have 3 nines, but they now only have 18 holes. They sold the other nine holes to a housing developer.
I asked my playing partner – how would you describe Indian Bayou. He said, “just beautiful”. The higher greens fee is well worth making a trip out to Indian Bayou. We wished we played it twice.
One of the better courses in Destin
Indian Bayou is currently in great shape. Tee boxes are well manicured, fairways are taken care of and the greens roll true. Played a very quick round in under 3 hours. Highly recommend.

Punched greens
Overall a great course. Just happened to pick a weekend just after they had punched and sanded the greens.
Great condition
Indian Bayou is in great shape. Top course in the florida panhandle.
Fantastic Course
Not a single thing to complain about this course was absolutely amazing and well worth the price!
