Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club
About
Diamond Hill Golf & Country Club in Dover, Florida stretches over rolling hills where there is no shortage of water. Dry greens are never a concern as water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course. The greens vary in speed from medium to fast and the fairways are lined with towering trees. In addition to the water, there are also numerous bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. The golf course has some challenging par 3s, especially if it is a windy day. With several holes playing over water and a few houses close to the golf course, well placed tee shots are essential to scoring well at Diamond Hill.

Mr
Just a great layout don't let your guard down. You can get some big numbers if you do.
Nice Layout
This course has a very nice layout, some what challenging with all the raise greens. Fairways and greens need some maintenance but for the money, over all a great course to play and I will play this again.
Windy Day at Diamond Hill
This was the first time I played here. I had read the course was in "decent" shape, but had been improved the last 6 months to a year. The fairways were in rough condition and some of the greens (#11 especially) were over sanded/bumpy. The layout and design was nice. The elevated greens were difficult to hit just right. I was told that this course was in tip top shape some years ago, but a "work in progress now". I'm glad I tried it, but I'll try others around it next time.
Over book
We had a 1pm tee time, the starter put us with a single that had a 12:36 tee time,we tee off at 1:10. It took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. A staf member came out and asked if all was going well on the 9th.hole I told him it has taken us 3 hours to play 9 holes. He said he would give us a rain check. That never happened, they asked us if we would to play the front 9 again. We said no thanks
The course offers great specials
Super Bowl Sunday the course had a better deal than the online booking agency I used $30 cheaper than what I paid.
The course has a couple of nice long holes great for hitting your long irons and woods.
Wet Day!
The course was in good shape and the elevation changes made it interesting as far as club selection goes. The weather did not cooperate very well since we had to stop after 9 holes due to rain and cold.
liked layout, but sanded greens and some dead, rough areas
overall we liked the layout of this course as it is pretty wide open, I had not played it in over 15 years, but it was much the same. it had a few dead and washed out areas and they had just sanded the greens pretty heavy so they were crazy. I think it is in the lower end of clubs in the area but with a little more love could be much better than it is. It was very windy and a little chilly when we played, making the course somewhat empty so pace of play was great! We were done in 3 hours for 2 of us not being rushed at all.
This course was in excellent shape
The course was in excellent shape. Very friendly staff. I recommend this course to all my friends and I am a repeat visitors.
Great Course
This is a great course to play on its plays fair to all levels of golfers. I call this my home course because I live10 min away . The staff is very nices the pro shop is very nices, the beer is cold and the drinks are strong. I love the 9th hole on this golf course it open and long. This course has nices fair ways and great greens. If you have not played this golf course you should get four of your friends and your wallets out and hit the course.
This course overall is in great shape
Love to play this course, today's weather wasn't player friendly. A little warmer temps and sunshine should help any failing turf and make for a more comfortable round. Holes 9 and 13 are two challenging par 5's. Holes 6 and 15 are two par 3's with water hazards. There is a variety of doglegs and elevations making this course a nice challenge. I enjoyed playing here and can't wait to return.
A Good Challenging Course for Everyone
The course has been updated with improved fairways and greens. Offers a variety of challenges for all levels of players.
Greens not pretty
Good layout.Tees and fairways were in in good shape and the greens ran true, but the rye never came in, so they look ugly.
9th hole, 600 yds, is still a challenge.
Could use a ranger.
this is a great track
I play with a group called the athletes and played Diamond after Christmas. Every golfer in central Florida knows this is a great track with multiple elevation changes and great risk-reward doglegs, but the condition was amazingly good> the greens were true and quick and the fairways soft and full. I would recommend Diamond Hill to golfers of all skill levels and ages!!!
Much improved
Had played this course about 5 times over the past five years and was always left disappointed in the greens and conditions.
Ownership has changed at the course and let me tell you, the whole place has turned around. Greens are in great shape, fairways are also great. Course is challenging but fair and playable without being unduly punishing. Would absolutely return.
Great play
Fun course with some beautiful holes sprinkled in and the staff is very friendly
Great day for golf
Greens and fairways in good shape. Fun round. Caught up to a twosome. Enjoyed playing with them. They were about my handicap and true gentlemen.
Diamond Hill is Back!
With new ownership and vast improvements, Diamond Hill is in great shape and getting better.
This is a rare golf course for Florida in that there are authentic changes in elevation throughout the course. The signature hole #15 sports an elevated tee with a 170 yard forced carry over water.
Large and numerous lakes with spectacular wildlife everywhere makes this a great place to spend four hours.
The greens are large, in good condition and moderately fast. Fairways with a few exceptions on the back nine are in excellent condition. Improvements are continuing.
The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. There is an active Men's and Ladies Clubs.
Good food in the Bar and Grill with very reasonable prices.
This facility is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip to Dover! Probably one of the best kept value added golf secrets. Did I mention the great scenery and wildlife?
better than in the past
I have played this course many times and though it is still not in the best of shape it was in much better shape our last round. it has always been a friendly place to play and I have rarely been told no when trying to do a walk on. one of the things that I really like about the course is that there are several unique holes for Florida. on the other hand, the bunkers are terrible, like hitting off of hardpan. since it seems there is some upgrading going on, I would like to see some better sand in the bunkers.
Great Course
Great People, Great Course, Great Value, Will definitely go Back!
Largely Open but with some challenging blind shots, Tee off at 11:00 AM and it was like we had the course to ourselves, Greens and fairways were well cared for.
Comming back
I am coming back here, the course was in perfect condition. I had a 9:02 tee time but was sent out early and alone without the range balls included in the deal. It is my fault, I didn't even ask if I could wait for the other three on my Golf Now time or ask for the range balls.
Yet they still get 3 stars? Seems like a 1 star to me!
